This place is bloody brilliant.
I'm guessing if you're considering a break in Devon you already know about the incredibly beautiful beaches and scenery so I'll focus on the cottage itself. All of the rooms were fantastic, including my own which was the added sofa bed room. The kitchen and lounge provide two large comfortable places to relax. The kitchen has a large table with space for all guests and the living room a nice log burner to add to the holiday feeling. The garden is incredible with beautiful views and seating to really enjoy the countryside. Neighbours were very welcoming and we felt like we knew the people renting the cottage despite not meeting them. Kind notes, a homemade cake and some fruit and veg meant that we really felt very welcome.
If I could have spent the rest of my life drinking in their garden with occasional goes on the trampoline, then I probably would.
An excellent property combined with a touch of class made for an exceptional stay.
The owners of this property went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect break, it started by ensuring our preferred newspaper was delivered on he Saturday morning of the stay. I thought this was a nice touch that went above and beyond the usually UK holiday stay. However on a arrival it was obvious the owner wished us to have an exceptional stay. We were greeted at the house on arrival with a luxury selection of fruit and vegetables.. A large bouquet of lilly's adorned the kitchen table and luxury toiletries were provided in all the bathrooms and en suite. All unexpected but truly appreciated
The house is finished to a high level with many amenities including ,modern washer, dryer, fridge freezer, high speed broadband, interactive smart tv with netflix, web browser and youtube built in, table tennis and trampoline.
Having to cook for 8 other hungry adults I found the kitchen was kitted out very well including a Kenwood, microwave, a vast range of utensils , bowls, trays, jugs chopping boards and good knives.
The house provided more than a enough room for 9 adults with large living room and lovely bedrooms, every one agreed they had excellent beds and lovely duvets.
The garden is a good size and we enjoyed the free range eggs provided by the chickens, which were no annoyance and did not smell all.
There is plenty of parking for 3 cars.
We took no children but this house is clearly geared up for children, there is abundance of children games and books including some really good Lego ( I couldn't resist) to entertain the children if you get English weather. If you get excellent sunshine like us the garden hosts a good strong trampoline, swing set as well as Frisbees, footballs and other out door games. Or good set of table and chairs to sup wine and beer .
The house is within walking distance of Braughton there is also some lovely walks if you go up the hill from the house. We travelled with ease to several pubs, Woolacoombe and ilfracoombe beach, Woolacoombe is a fantastic beach. Despite having easy access to so much the house is secluded enough not to feel concious of the noise we made and property is not overlooked.
I am not an easily impressed person but this really provided me and my friends with a lovely Easter break.
