Aherlow Cottage is situated in the western part of the Glen of Aherlow, a nice valley in between the bald peaks of the Galtee Mountains and the wooded hills of Slievenamuck. The Aherlow river runs next to the house. Bansha (a 10 minute drive) has a small but reasonable supermarket for daily needs; Tipperary (20 minute drive) has all the shops you might need.
The house has a fine atmosphere with lots of lovely details and is (more then) fully equipped. If you forgot what silence is like, you can retrieve it here. One car on the small road next to the house every two hours and only one at night (early in the morning; probably the same person every day). Lots of birds around. As a guest, you have a large private garden space next to the house. Must be very suitable for a family with kids (we were three adults). Marion surprised us with coffee and sweets at arrival. Swiss Cottage and the Castle at Cahir and the famous Rock of Cashell are only a stone throw away.
Aherlow Cottage is a really lovely house. Very nice interior, love the design and vibe of the place, very relaxing. Completely spotless with every convenience needed. Solar-powered hot water was great, plenty for 5 to shower each morning. Quiet location, lovely garden and surrounding countryside, with friendly generous host. We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back.
If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay in Ireland, this is it. This cottage has everything that you would need to make you feel at home, in a lovely location in the country. It is nicely decorated with lots of personal touches that makes it warm and homey. The gardens around the property are beautiful and well kept. It is very clean!!!! Not a speck anyway. The beds are all very comfortable, and I am very picky!
Marion, welcomed us with yummy muffins, pure apple juice, jam and fresh cut flowers. I really can't say enough good things about it!
We all loved it!!!
Thanks for making us feel at home, so far away!
Everything was perfect and more than advertised. Only issue, it was difficult to find. Would recommend highly!
