We had an excellent week and will definitely stay again. The house was well equipped and it was a very peaceful location.
We had a great stay here boosted by some lovely weather.
The cottage itself is lovely with plenty of space and comfy beds and the added bonus of two showers. We were traveling as a group of five with me, my husband, my mum and a four and two year old and we were all very pleased. The dishwasher was a nice treat from usual washing up too. The lounge/dining area is spacious. There is heating which you pay to use so we left it as we were on the cusp of needing it but would recommend taking a jumper etc as it is wood/tiles throughout so naturally a little cooler. Phil is a charming owner and very accommodating and attentive.
The area is beautiful and scenic. The beach we went to at Ventry was a short drive but you could easily have walked and is so nice and quiet. There's lovely restaurants at Ventry and further back into Dingle which is a good sized town with plenty to see.
If you're into running, the half and full marathon look fun and a have a good crowd though you've got almost a year till it is next on!
All in all a lovely place to come and you really feel like you're in a different world. A great place to relax.
This is a lovely clean quiet pretty two story house situated up a little lane and has an efficient clean feel to it. It is semi detached and has a small garden at the back. Comfortable beds with nice bedding and towels provided. The lane is opposite the Celtic Museum and the owner gave excellent directions. From the front windows in the cottage you can see the water in the distance. From the back windows there was a lovely view of fields with lots of animals that the children really liked. We were able to access the property from 4 o'clock which was fine for us because we had driven over from Dublin that day.
We were family of five with children aged just two, six and seven.
The property had tiled floor throughout which we liked as easy to clean up and feels cleaner than carpet. The kitchen is well equipped with a large dishwasher. There were ample bin liners some dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, a scourer, dish cloths and tea towels. The house does have a fantastic washing machine and dryer.
It was easy to communicate with the owner before arriving and she also left full details of how to contact her and useful information on local hospitals et cetera.
Ventry beach which is very good and has toilets and life guard.
We generally had the heating on first thing in the morning and when we came back from the beach. It was the end of July/beginning of August but it was still quite chilly. The heating is on a meter and one euro gets about half an hour. The owner had left quite a lot of loose change for us so we probably only spent on extra €15. The property has two electric showers (no bath) which was fine for us.
All in all this was a lovely house and I would recommend it and return.....just just be prepared for the Irish weather with lots of waterproofs, wetsuits and umbrellas! The best thing though about the cottage was the amazing peace and quiet. The only noise was the tweeting of birds.
My sons favourite room was the one at the front on the left with its own bathroom and a lovely view from the window.
We stayed in Tigh Ui Chathain and really enjoyed our stay. She was a lovely women who made us feel very welcome. We had a group of 5 staying and had plenty of space. It was really clean and the beds were comfortable. It had lovely views all around.
