“Absolutely no athmosphere and no one around to ask local information”
Reviewed 16 November 2010

I booked this B&B based on the excellent reviews it had already received in Tripadvisor. We were greeted politely by a girl who was definately rushing (probably back to work in Londis which is attached) and who suggested we pay up front since it was her day off on Monday (our check out day) and we might have to wait around if we wanted to pay then. Not a great start, definately felt we were an inconvenience. Its true the place is spotless, very new, very comfortable beds (some of the best I've been in), fantastic shower pressure and decent size room. Breakfast was standard fare. But it was like staying in a motel. Once we had checked in that was all we saw of any staff - we had been looking for recommendations for places to eat, place to walk etc but there was no one to ask. 'Sterile' is the word I would use. If I'd wanted that I would have booked an anonymous chain hotel. I wanted to stay in a guesthouse/B&B for the friendly and local service but it was not to be. Still we had a great break made all the better by a jazz funk band which was playing in Tully's pub up the road - they were fab! As for 'The Tide Full Inn' restaurant, great antipasti but just about average pizza and tiramisu. Overall I think I would stay in Ballyvaughan if I was heading that direction again. NB. It was off season when we stayed in Kinvara so that probably explains the lack of staff and athmosphere.

Mary was so helpful in making reservations for us at the Dunquaire Castle Banquet with even special requests. She stayed in touch. Both host and hostess were very warm and friendly. Wonderful stay. Would highly recommend..

Stayed here for 10 days...the place doesnt look much from the outside but it is just gorgeous inside...my only grumble was thee windows didnt open much so it did feel stuffy and stiffled..but it was rather warm at the time which is unusual..we missed our flights and staff/owner couldnt do enough for us we had to stay 3 nights longer which was no problem at all.
Breakfast is amazing all cooked for by Eliza..little vietnam girl who was so kind and breakfast came in mounds.
Also at night i would often pop down to the kitchen for a snack...no charge.. my partner Shaun made me a lovely piccy night for me in the spotless kitchen ...no charge...
Rooms spotless and beds comfortable...ird go tomorrow if i could..wdnt bother with the Italian restaurant across the road..just appaling...but Keowes over the rd is reknown for the brown bread and soup...our fave place...i loved it...

This is a fantastic new ("hotel without the pub") bed and breakfast/guesthouse in a beautiful Village called Kinvara, the "gateway" to the Burren. It is smack in the centre of the village, within a short stroll to all the great little pubs and restaurants. We have given this b&b an "excellent" all round score which it clearly deserves. We will definitely stay there again on any future visit to the area.

A great place to stay! The staff was very friendly and the facilities are comparable to a hotel, for the price of a Bed & Breakfast. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. A baby bed was provided for our little son.
