“A wonderful stay in the most beautiful part of Ireland!”

We had visited Ireland for the first time last year and fell in love with it, so this is actually our second time staying at Lisdonagh House!

Lisdonagh house is a charming, rustic Georgian mansion situated perfectly in the Galway area. It is absolutely gorgeous! The house itself, the ground and the surrounding......how magical is it to be greeted by the sight of silvery white Connemara ponies dotting a vast grassland lined by a tranquil lake in the mornings?!
It is a sight we shall never forget, and cherish, always, until we return again!

The house itself is huge, easily accommodating large families with extended guests, granted we kept our numbers small, it was wonderful to be able to sleep in the basement occasionally to avoid having over-active kids waking us up early in the morning. The cozy drawing room had us spending many a night chatting and laughing, with the firewood crackling in the comforting fire place.....

Finola is such a gracious host, she arranged the most sumptuous dinner for us to enjoy upon arrival, like last year. My husband has been salivating at the thought of the Guinness Stew since he had it last, it was heart-warming on the chilly night we arrived..... and then the aromatic sticky toffee pudding with the ice-cream....... the kids were ready to lick their plates!

John, Finola's wonderful and knowledgeable husband, and Uiseann, their wonderful elder son, went out of their way to take the kids on a Connemara Pony ride, we walked around the ground of the house, listening to the history of Lisdonagh and John and Uiseann's insiders' scope about horse-breeding and racing.

We wish we had more than a week to spend at Lisdonagh, but we will be back for sure! Till then, thank you for everything again, Finola, John, Uiseann, Olwyn and Aonghus!
