we spent 2 weeks in this house last year and as I am thinking to go again, i thought I would leave a review.
it's just a great house, calm, with space, with a beautiful garden and different areas where you can either enjoy the sun next to the pool or read in the shade.
it has space for large families. and a great kitchen (important for me as I love to cook).
the surroundings are also really nice. small villages. and great wine!
we loved it!
This is the perfect location for a restful holidays. We stayed in the Umbria Tower House with 2 families (6 kids) and had a fabulous time. There are enough spaces in the house and in the vast garden for all to spread and be at ease.
We organised a cook to come and could enjoy a relaxing time in the lovely scenery the premise.
The places are around, from small villages in the very near to bigger touristic places give enough options to enjoy art and culture, in case you are afraid to be bored just enjoying the pool!
The house is really gorgeous and so spacious and comfortable, and so beautifully furnished with furniture and art from across the world. The gardens that surround the house, and the magnificent rock pool shaped swimming pool are equally delightful. From here you can easily visit the many ancient hilltop fortified towns in the region such as Todi, Assisi, Perugia, and many others. The owners, Lin and Carlos, are on hand when you need them, to offer advice on where to go and how to make the best of your time there. Go there with friends and family and you will have a wonderful holiday.
After having visited the Umbria Tower House multiple times I am still struck by its singular beauty. The house is wonderfully non-standard: as an ancient farmhouse it manages to be spacious and comfortable—the house has wifi and central heating—while remaining equally cosy and homely. The collection of books is astonishing, as well as the places it offers for you to enjoy them in: it has tiny hidden rooms—I keep discovering new ones—as well as a beautiful garden. For those more actively inclined there is a pool, and there are an endless number of walks starting from the house through the ‘green heart of Italy’ and to historic sites. Perfect for a large family get-together!
We stayed in the house in the first week of June with our 5 week old baby and some friends. The jasmine covering the walls of this beautiful medieval farm house was in bloom and the sent drifted into our bedroom every morning. Just one of the many aspects why this house is a pleasure to stay in. The house is as lovely on the inside as it is on the outside. It is decorated with a lot of taste and detail. The owners have collected the furnishings over the years from all over the world and it feels as home. The house has lots of nooks and crannies, lots of little stairs, hallways and rooms of various sizes, making it easy too imagine you have not only travelled in distance, but also in time. The views from the gardens, which surround the house from all sides, are stunning and there is a lot of space in the house and grounds. For all times of the day there is another terrace where you can sit down to enjoy these surroundings. According to the owners the week we stayed was the first one with nice (normal ;-)) Umbrian weather. Fortunately to cool us off we could take a dip in the large and very pretty pool and lay in the sun beside the pool sipping on something refreshing. Absolute luxury! For those looking for a beautiful house with a true historic feel this is definitely the place to stay.
