We planned this trip for a year and I have to say that Villa San Valentino met all of our expectations. The house was exactly as pictured (gorgeous) and in extremely good condition. The views from everywhere in the house and on the grounds are stunning. Both the rental agent and the property manager were beyond helpful and knowledgeable. We spent a lot of time during our week just relaxing by the pool, grilling under the pergola and drinking wine while soaking up the Umbrian sunshine. Highly recommended!
What can I say? We were a group of seven friends and six months later we are still talking about our memorable holidays in Villa San Valentino. To find a luxury holiday here is to understate what you will encounter. Breathtaking views all around, relaxing by the pool, starting the day off with real espresso, baking your own pizza's in the outside pizza oven, long days and nights relaxing and dining under the poolside patio, visiting nearby towns, a very cute nun's kitchen/restaurant at walking distance, complete privacy with excellent service by manager both in the run up to and during our stay. Photo's do not do the place justice. Everything was clean, well maintained, well equipped and clearly explained at arrival. Would definitely recommend.
My wife and I rented San Valentino for a 3 week stay from end of June to mid July as part of a summer in Europe program. The rental process was easy and smooth thanks to Luana Zangarelli from Italy to Rent web site. We looked at more than a dozen or so villas in Umbria and San Valentino was the one that met all of our criteria of privacy, A/C, pool and spectacular views. Upon arrival Guido the villa manager met us at the villa and explained the ins and outs and gave us his cell phone number in case of need. Guido speaks perfect English and manages other villas nearby and is never more than 20 minutes away.
The villa delivered on all accounts. Three suites (all with A/C), meticulously maintained yard (quite large) surrounded by lavender, nice size pool, gas grill area and gazebo, a separate patio with a brick pizza oven, etc, etc. The inside is typical Tuscan/Umbrian style with exposed wood and brick surfaces. Well appointed kitchen that includes a professional espresso dual boiler machine and numerous other appliances. We spent many an evening outdoors after dinner sipping a glass of wine and looking up at the beautiful stars in the sky and the night lights at nearby Todi. Only word of caution is that the Villa is somewhat remote and there's only 1 nearby restaurant (La Cuccola). Drive to Todi is 20-30 minutes and not always desirable during the night. It was not a problem for us since we went out during the day and grabbed lunch somewhere and typically had dinner at home. We did go to La Cuccola several times during our stay and the food there is quite good. Would definitively go back!
