I was disappointed in what previously had been the best La Quinta we've stayed at. Check-in/out was OK, the room was fine, and breakfast was fine too; however:
A) they didn't warn us they were planning to remodel the hallway, so we had noisy (and nosey) workers each day;
B) housekeeping did a poor job two days and completely skipped the third; and,
C) the breakfast attendant was the most surly, angry-looking, unpleasant person I've ever seen at any hotel.
I mentioned A and B to the front desk but all I got was "sorry" for A and "maybe you stayed too late" for B (we left at 10am, so no).
This was Easter weekend, so I can't understand the timing of the remodeling. Also, more workers could have gotten the job done in half a day, one at most -- when we left Sunday there was no progress past the initial demolition.
On the plus side: the rooms were clean and in good repair, the shower hot and strong, and the bed was excellent. Also, there is good insulation between rooms and floors and the neighborhood is quiet and convenient.
Given that my two previous stays were very good, I may try them again, but I will likely be looking for other options as well.More
