We were seated promptly this day in early April. A sample of southern pit beans was offered for each of us and it was fun to try. We ordered the fried Bologna Sandwich with onion rings as a side. Too much mustard was spread on ours but it was still good. The onion rings were good too. We also had the Bush's chili and it was a bit different than what we are used to but it was quality food, just not something we cared for. Large soft drinks were offered with free re-fills. We tried a piece of their famous pecan pie (has beans in it) and it was interesting to say the least. Again, good quality. Our server, Jennifer, was ultra efficient and friendly. A real credit to the establishment. We certainly recommend a stop here for lunch. It is very well priced.

A friend recommended the cafe and visitor's center to my wife prior to our trip to the area. We drove to Dandridge from Gatlinburg (maybe 40 minutes) and were very glad we did. It was great hearing the Bush's story topped off with a great meal in their cafe. It was a late lunch/early dinner for us. We found the food to be absolutely outstanding and the service to be the same. If you have some time, it is worth the trip out to see the visitor's center, hear the story, visit the museum, visit the general store, then finish it off with a meal in the cafe. You could get anything from sandwiches to full blown dinners -- like fried catfish (it was great!). I highly recommend this little side trip if you are in the area.

Decided to have :Pinto Bean Pecan Pie. It was fabulous. They give you a recipe for it and will definitely try it at home. I also bought Chipolte Beans with a recipe with Pork Loin. Another good choice.
