We visited in March, and had a lovely meal . We read The Druid Inn had been taken over. Our son was working down the road, and we need somewhere dog friendly , it made sense to go back but we were cautious about whether it would be as nice an experience .

We need not have worried, we were made welcome as soon as we stepped through the door, the lady working behind the bar was lovely and friendly .

We were a party of 8, we were sat in a little part that was sectioned off with one large table, it was perfect for us , as we had plenty to do catch up on .

I am quite a squeemish person, and cant help but check out cleanliness, everything was very clean, toilets, and the kitchen which I had a nosey at walking past, and everything was organised and very clean indeed .

Between our party , we had curry ( chilli chicken ) and was delicious , Steak and kidney puddings, fish and chips, a lamb curry dish , salads etc . There was something to suit everyone .

Considering we were a large party, all our food came together, and was fresh and hot , we had a few extra requests not on the menu, and there was no problem at all, if they could do it, they happily would . We had questions about the ingredients of the food, and they could answer them all, they clearly know everything about the food they cook in the kitchen .

The team who work there are an absolute credit to the owners , we had a lovely time back in March , but a lady called Sam has taken over since then, and this time we felt everyone went absolutely out of the way to make us welcome, to a point that without question we would return there because its so welcoming, not just because we can take our dog . .

Sam the new owner is really lovely, and is clearly passionate about looking after those who come and visit , we felt so looked after , it really was lovely .

I know dogs are not everyones cup of tea , but if we can't take our dog, then we tend not to visit , and The Druid Inn is still very dog friendly , and Max my dog was fussed by everyone, he was in heaven .

I'm quite difficult to please , and am quite fussy , so If I like somewhere, then it must be good , being a party of 8 with different likes and dislikes, and every single one of us happy with our meal, then it speaks for itself .

We will come back , but this time hopefully stay over , so that we can make the most of the stunning surroundings , its in a lovely area .

Great value too :)

We stopped by here yesterday with our tiny 11 week old baby, which might have been enough to put any other restaurant off but we received the warmest of welcomes from Sarah. What a excellent host! Nothing was too much bother and we felt very much at ease in the lovely surroundings. The food was fabulous and the salted caramel cheesecake was to die for. Would highly recommend. We will be back;)

In an area short on accommodation, it was great that staff at the Druid were willing to collect us from Clwyd Gate - their response to our telephone call was excellent.

Simple, clean ensuite room, enjoyable lasagne, excellent packed lunch provided for the next day.

Return lift for us to continue our walk.

Thank you for your all your help and hospitality
