My Husband, Sister and I ate at City Cafe and Diner last night and were Pleasantly surprised. This location is located in the Best Western Hotel and offers about a six page menu filled with all of your favorites from breakfast to seafood dinners and more. Sis and I had the BLT which comes with coleslaw, a huge pickle and a choice of side (which there are many). My husband had the Philly Cheesesteak which came with the same. All items are huge portions. We took home a slice of awesome moist cake which is big enough for 2-3 people. They have a choice of about 30 different cakes and pie to choose from. The service was fast and wonderful, very attentive server. I highly recommend this place. One word of advice...COME HUNGRY!

The front desk staff was friendly, as always. The service was scant, as always. Their complimentary bread was delicious and warm and their food quantities are quite large. I ordered the potato pancakes and a side of breakfast potatoes (extra crispy). The potato pancakes were a touch bland but the density and moisture content were excellent and they had a nice crisp on the outside. The "extra crispy" breakfast potatoes, which used to be delightful, were a little substandard. One side of the outer portion of the potatoes was crispy but there was a full layer of small round slices of potatoes in between which had never touched the grill. It ended being not that crispy and the potatoes which had no crisp were a bit dry.
All that being said, the food is a great value for quantity and general quality. It's diner food - fattening, not fancy, generally delicious. I would recommend the pancakes, any Mexican dishes, and all the omelettes.

Where this place really shines is in their cakes. You simply cannot get a better example of any of the huge list of cakes anywhere else. Moist, flavorful, delicious! You can buy by the slice or by the cake. Amazing! You must go there for cake. Save room - the slices are massive!

My husband and I stayed at the Best Western hotel and the City Cafe was inside the hotel. We had two evening meals that were very good. We had wings, fries, carrots and celery the first night. Then the open faced turkey sandwich and a cheeseburger the next night. We could have shared the meals. Very large portions. We ordered a piece of heavenly chocolate cake to go. It took 3 days to finish. I liked the fact that they were open 24 hours. The staff were very friendly and service was fast. I would love to have access to those cakes on a routine basis. The only downfall was the sampler for the cakes was sold out and they couldn't make sample plates available. There were several other tables by who wanted the cake sample plates.

Good food. Horrible service. Dark and outdated. Their desserts are good but the price of the whole cake will leave your wallet pretty empty. A single slice is big enough for 2 or 3 people to share.
