“Beautiful location, comfortable house, amazing peacefulness”
Reviewed 13 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This modern, new-build house is cosy yet modern, with an open-plan ground floor and big bright airy rooms throughout. Huge windows on the ground floor look out over the loch - a view that changes throughout the day as the weather changes. It's far from being cold at all - the heating is super-efficient andwe even had to ask the owners to turn the heat down as it was too warm for us. That said, we still used the log-burning stove as the cosiness was enhanced at night with a roaring fire... The location is a short walk from Bosta beach (where there is a restored iron-age house) and is on the Great Bernera trail - great for walking. It was really well equipped and the kitchen was a joy to use - and you will need to use it as there are no bars or restaurants within range of the house - and everything (other than churches) is closed on Sundays - so you will need to cook. As holiday rentals go, this place was, frankly, the best any of us had ever experienced - the standard by which all others will be measured in future.

“Breathtakingly Wonderful”
Reviewed 14 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This is a unique escape from the rest of the world in a luxurious, immaculately designed house with every creature comfort you might want slap-bang in the middle of one of the most remote and wild places in Britain. We spent 9 incredible days at Loch View and totally switched off from work, problems and other pedestrian concerns. Our city kids were happy as clams in the house and the wilds and my son had his first fishing lesson opposite the house. Before coming we fretted constantly about the weather but in the end even when the sun wasn't shining it was a pleasure to be inside. If you want a real escape from suburban concrete, pebble-dash Britain come here!

“Perfect house in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed 2 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We stayed 3 nights over the New Year period. Loch View is everything we had hoped it would be and more. Gorgeous house finished off to a very high standard. The location is perfect and everything you could possibly think of is provided by the owners, including the champagne for Hogmanay - thanks Sally & Richard. Beautiful views out of the large front windows - wish we had this view at home. All this is within a short distance of beautiful Bosta beach which has fantastic views and an Iron Age house attraction. Would highly recommend Loch View.

“What a wonderful place ... we didn't want to leave”
Reviewed 21 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This was our first trip to the Isle of Lewis and it exceeded all our expectations. Loch View is in an idyllic spot off the beaten track but really centrally located to get to other parts of the Island. It is a beautiful cottage and is very well equipped - we felt so at home and enjoyed some home cooking in the lovely kitchen. Everything has been thought of and the owners have take a lot of care to make sure you are comfortable. The Tesco delivery from Stornaway was a great bonus! The cottage is within walking distance of Bosta Beach which is just one of the AMAZING beaches on Lewis. My family are keen surfers and Lewis offers some wonderful locations for surfing on quiet, unspoilt beaches which are just picture postcard. Take a good wetsuit though as it is chilly in October but when the sun is shining you don't mind. We are looking forward to visiting again - it is well worth the journey.
