“Lovely and relaxing holiday!”
Reviewed 28 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Welcome pack much appreciated and the cottage was very clean and comfortable.Everything we needed was provided. The cottage was well equipped even providing shampoo and conditioner sachets if required. The smoke alarm battery needed changing and started to bleep every 40 seconds and despite being late at night Callum sent his brother in law to fix it which was much appreciated. Our only problem was on the last night having a final look at the magnificent sunset over the Atlantic the two seater bench collapsed, looking at it the wood was rotten and chose then to give up the ghost on our last night.thankfully no harm done. But I am sure had it have been at the begining of the holiday Callum is the type of gentleman who would have replaced this. The neighbours were very friendly giving us tasty duck eggs and on our second week more fresh duck eggs and treats for our dog.Our dog was on holiday with us and we had the unexpected bonus of a huge fenced field opposite for him to run in safely which he throughly enjoyed also the fencing is secure around the cottage for a larger dog. We could not believe how quiet and serene the area was. The sea views were Amazing a constant changing picture. Sunrise and sunset were fantastic. The cottage is in an ideal position to enjoy both. Bosta beach ten minutes away in the car was breathtaking. We also recommend luskintyre and reef Beach . Hanging out washing in the wind was a new experience but it dries quickly. We throughly enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. We would definitely stay here again!

“Lovely cottage, fab week”

Our second visit to Harsgeir Cottage. We and our two spaniels thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again. The place is lovely! Very cosy on the wet & windy days and the views of the sunset are gorgeous.
The welcome pack of delicious goodies & lovely flowers were very much appreciated. Lewis is a stunning island. Close by is Bosta beach with the Iron Age house, which is stunning. The community cafe is friendly & worth the visit. There is a weaver close by who produces beautiful work which is also well worth visiting. Explore and enjoy!

We booked this cottage with a great sense of adventure and excitement. Ten years previously we had been on Skye, seen the ferry going across to Tarbert and promised ourselves 'one day' we would be on it.
Great Bernera is a magnificent island base, and Harsgeir View cottage is a real home from home. It was our haven for two wonderful weeks, reluctant to leave we again made that promise that 'one day' we will return.
The views and walks from the door are just magic. The light constantly changes (as does the weather) and as we were carless for days we can vouch for it being great for walking.
I loved to look out from the kitchen window, watching the waves crashing in and the sea and loch changing from blue to silver to grey - then blue again.
Calum the owner is very kind and helpful and offered assistance with our broken-down-car problems.
We found houses For Sale and dreamed of buying one as a holiday home, or even a permanent home. You'll be spell-bound by the warm, welcoming, friendly locals and their gentle humour and 'chilled-out' attitude.
