“Excellent host , cottage and location”
Reviewed 25 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Excellent cottage with every amenity you could wish for. We had a lovely mainly dry week in June 2017 although windy most days only occasional shower with temperature around 16 or 18 degrees C . Can recommend Bernera walk to Bosta beach. Callanish stones are fairly nearby and drive there and on to Butt of Ness stopping at Blackhouses and Broch makes a grand day out. Drive and walk at Road to Nowhere and then stop off at Stornoway for visits to Lews Castle and Islander seafood for fresh Lobster and cafe called Artisans on Church st just opposite the Islander seafood shop on front . Also good is HS-1 for evening meal. Another day go to Uighur Sands stopping off on return at Scallop Shack for fresh scallops is another experience. Another day drive to Eagle Observatory to hopefully see eagles ( no joy for us) and on to Tarbet with stop at Fresh Fruits cafe is lovely. If driving to Leverburgh for ferry take the coastal route from Tarbet as although windy single track has wonderful views at every turn and is worth the time spent.
In summary we had a great week and can fully recommend all of the above staying at Atlantic Cottage . All you would want extra is lots of sunshine

“Perfect location and accommodation to fully appreciate the Isle of Lewis”
Reviewed 17 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

The location is amazing, with stunning views in all directions, the best of which is from the kitchen window across the sea towards Kneep sands. For bird lovers, you can watch the many coming and goings from Loch Roag , which is at the bottom of the garden. The cottage has everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Light the wood burner and listen to the sheep bleating outside or maybe the wind playing a tuneful song. If the weather permits, sit outside and watch the sun go down over the Atlantic....Now that's what I call bliss.

Beautiful and well maintained cottage. Wonderful views and setting. Great welcome from the owner. For those who love outdoors and natural beauty an excellent starting point for visits around the island.

“Bright and windy cottage with views”

Atlantic Cottage has a bright, fresh interior. It is very clean and the kitchen has good facilities - with decent quality crockery, glassware and pans - much better than many rentals.
My stay was in the second week of November and about half the days were very windy, as expected. The central heating kept the rooms warm with the exception of the kitchen, where the radiator is too small - however leaving the door open between the lounge and kitchen largely solved that problem. I did not use the stove in the lounge.
The best views are from the kitchen and utility room, there is little to see from the lounge except a bank of rising ground. One can walk on much of the adjacent croft land, as it belongs to the cottage owners. It is an isolated spot but then that is what many people go to Lewis to enjoy, I would strongly recommend this cottage to people wanting a quiet, scenic place to stay.

“A Memorable Experiance .”

A warm and comfortable cottage with scenic views. Lovely to relax In after a day touring or if the weather is bad.
The coastal walk from the cottage to Bostadh Beach and the Iron Age house is well worth doing. A visit to the Calanish Stones ( excellent tea- room) on the way to the Butt of Lewis is a must.
Also recommended the Stornaway Black Pudding, and Kippers from the local smokery.
