This is a decent place to stay on the road to other places. The room was ok--we could not use the air conditioning because when we turned it on it smelled musty. I would probably want to check out another place if we visit the area again, but the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

Room Tip: Check the air conditioner when you arrive.

stopped in here for night while traveling across South Dakota,
Let me start with the positives, the lobby is nice, small but setup to feel comfortable.
the room was clean, the bed comfortable, decent size room with a coffee maker and flat panel tv.. plenty of channels to choose from,
The breakfast was decent, eggs, sausages, waffles, pastries and dry cereal, coffee and juice.
It was a safe area to stay.
Here are my negatives,
The hot tub jets didn't work, the sauna had a weed wacker in it, telling me it's a storage closet now, the website says they have an exercise room, that they don't actually have,
in the bathroom in my room, the show curtain looks like it had a brown material on it like poop..
I suffered with some idiot stomping around in the room above mine late evening..
and if you need, they do not have an elevator..

Room Tip: if you have issues with stairs request a ground floor room

Driving across South Dakota looking for a place and Quality Inn in Mitchell was fine! AC worked great, bed was comfy and the room was quiet! Early breakfast was ok as the coffee was hot as were the eggs and sausage

I booked through Priceline, which offered a "special" or "secret" room which they said would be similar to a Best Western. Check-in went well and that was much appreciated as we had been travelling for 7+ hours. In the room, I pulled back the bedding to check the sheets, they looked clean and crisp. I laid on my side on the bed, quite comfortable, for about 10 minutes. When I stood up, my shorts were damp on my hip. I looked at the bed again and noticed that the sheets were also damp. I couldn't figure out where it would have come from since I had just checked them. Being a mom, I did the sniff test. It was urine. The cleaning person must not have noticed that the mattress pad was "dirty" underneath and put clean sheets on the bed. I cannot tell you how completely disgusted and freaked out I was.
I'm really editing this review so long story short, we got a different room (which was also dirty and that's another story but I do have pictures of the mold on the shower curtain and the filthy filter in the A/C which I checked because it didn't seem to be working properly. We had gone out to get a drink, I called the hotel to ask for a discount for the disgust factor of laying on someone else's urine. I also called Priceline. Bottom line, I was offered a 15% discount for the "inconvenience".
Do NOT stay at this hotel. Kayla, the night clerk, was very nice but the manager Ileona was very rude the when I checked out the day next day.
DON'T BOOK AT THIS HOTEL!

Nothing fancy but the hotel was clean and quiet. The air conditioner in the room worked well, it was over 90 outside. Breakfast was adequate. Great value for the price. I would definitely stay here again if I ever need a room in Mitchell.

Room Tip: No elevator to second floor, stay on first floor if you do not want to deal with the stairs.
