“Bellevue ticked all the boxes!”
Reviewed 18 January 2014 for a stay in July 2013

We stayed in Bellevue - La Grange in July with our two children age 3 and 6 and and my brother and his wife and their 7 year old daughter. The accommodation was more than adequate and spotlessly clean and accommodated all of us very comfortably.

However, its what's outside that is the highlight of Bellevue with stunning views and outdoor amenities. Felicity and Alan have thought of everything to make your stay as pleasurable as possible and our children had no interest in going or doing anything else other than hopping from the pool to the outdoor play area and back to the pool again. We had a BBQ almost every night (complemented by a sampling of the local wines of course)! We were fortunate that the weather was stunning during our stay so much so that the bikes we had hired lay mostly unused in favour of the pool!!

As mentioned a car is absolutely necessary but don't let that put you off staying here - the local roads are really quiet and any cars we met whether we were driving, walking or cycling were extremely mannerly and courteous to other road users.

If you do decide to stay at Bellevue you will not be disappointed make sure you visit the local chateau's when you stay there - our favourite was Chateau Laulerie, take a day trip to Saint Emillion and Bergerac - that is if you can tear yourself away from the pool!

“You are sure to want to return”
Reviewed 25 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This September was our ninth visit and we will be booking for 2014. We enjoy the lovely location, which is ideal for a peaceful and/or a more active holiday. The Grange is very comfortable and well appointed. You are assured of a warm welcome by Alan and Felicity, who do everything they can to make your stay pleasurable.

“peace perfect peace”
Reviewed 15 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

If you are looking for a quiet place to relax with your family then this is it. The gite is situated in a vineyard with stunning views and a beautiful and fantastically clean safe pool area and gardens. The accommodation is exactly what one would expect its a little basic but perfectly adequate for a family with 3 or 4 teenagers. The outdoor area is well shaded by large trees with a lovely barbecue area complete with table and chairs. There are 2 villages within about a 10 minute drive with small shops to buy every day essentials although the butcher's shop in Le Fleix deserves a special mention because it is superb. The owners did everything possible to make our holiday perfect and it was. The sunrises and sunsets are lovely and we sat out almost every evening with some lovely food and wine chatting and watching the sun going down. It really was lovely. A car is essential and the driving is easy with quiet roads passing through rolling vineyard covered hills. There is so much to see and do in the area, and to be honest we did very little except enjoy being there. I guess we will just have to go back!
