It was our family’s first time on Segway’s and we would definitely do it again. We had Phil who was our tour guide at Citizens Park. He was funny and kind and gave us great instruction.

The Myrtle Beach Segway Experience is located at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex, about 25 minutes from where we were staying at Myrtle Beach.

The manager, Phil made a concerted conscientious effort to make sure that each participant was fully comfortable with the Segway before departing.

We did have a group of 10, although the web site says maximum group size of eight persons. Regardless, we got along fine, although it did take longer to outfit and orient a larger group.

This guided tour around the Sports Complex facilities gave everyone a lot of ride time ( 2 hours) and an opportunity to enjoy a lot of different types of terrain and varied scenery.

My family consisted of my 10 year old daughter, 13 year old son and me and my wife. Everyone got along great on the Segways and had a great time. The guide was extremely safety-oriented, and considerate of the group, giving everyone a few breaks, and also taking pictures of everyone with their own cameras on at least 3 scenic stops. Appreciated this very much !

I would definitely recommend this to families with children 10 years (75+ lbs) and older. My kids were saying they wanted to do this again on our next vacation!

A few helpful tips:
1. The day I called, they were completely booked for a couple days. I suggest making reservations at least several days in advance.

2. The person I spoke to over the phone suggested arriving 45 minutes early. We did, and this helped a lot in having time to sign releases, get fitted for helmets, and generally helping expedite everything to go as smoothly as possible.

3. We found a $5 OFF per person coupon for the Segway tours in a Myrtle Beach Coupon Book that we found in the condo building lobby. This made a 4 person tour approximately $190 including taxes

4. The Tour Guide offered to let us try his X2 Segway which had all-terrain wheels, was a little higher, and wider, and had a more cushioned ride. This was especially helpful in the woods portion near the end of the tour. Definitely recommend giving that X2 a try !

5. It was cool on the day we went, but on a hot day - for a two-hour tour, you would want to bring a bottle of water. There are small zip-up pouches on the Segways that will hold a 15/16 oz. bottle.

All-in-all a very nice experience. Thumbs - UP !!!

This was my second time taking the tour and my teen son's first time. Our tour guide was very patient at explaining the Segway to an over cautious mom and wonderful with an almost over confident teenager. He was very knowledgeable about Huntington Beach State Park and we were able to see quite a bit of nature to include an alligator, oysters, and a large variety of birds. It was a great way to see the park. We had a great time despite temps being in the upper 40's. My son is ready for another tour!

Four of us in our early 60's took the Segway tour at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Center. Had a great time. Our instructor, Phil, was very friendly and patient. He first showed us how to use the segways then we practiced around part of the large parking lot. We then followed him on a glide to a walking path, a ride around a lake and a glide on a wooded trail. We were there about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Had a lot of fun and would do it again.
