We were in Greenville for a concert. We had heard that Rick Erwin’s is one of the best seafood restaurants in South Carolina. My husband had the 3 course meal with a mixed green salad, the surf & turf (crab cake & small fillet), & white chocolate coconut cake dessert. He ordered his steak medium rare. It arrived medium well, but was quickly replaced with a perfectly cooked medium rare steak. The crab cake was probably 75% crab. Our daughter had a Caesar salad & oysters Rockefeller. Husband & daughter agreed they were heavy on the bacon. I had the Strawberry Arugula salad & the Lobster Tacos. The salad was very good except for the golf ball size chunk of goat cheese. Overkill. The lobster tacos were lobster, mango salsa, jalapeño, cabbage slaw. Sounded tasty, but they were pretty bland. To finish, our daughter ordered the cheesecake. It was pretty good, but had a citrus taste, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. I ordered the vanilla creme brûlée, which was good The coconut cream pie my husband had was very good. Our server, Emily, was very efficient & helpful. I was disappointed that, on what appeared to be a slow night (sleet & snow), we were seated at a table on a direct path to the restrooms. Overall, not a great meal/night, but we’ll try it again.
