The outside of the building might not be that appealing, and there are things in the home that need work, but overall, this is a good place to stay.
You have lots of windows that allow in a tremendous amount of natural light. My husband joked about needing to wear his sunglasses in the house. He might not have been joking. The owners bought the property AFTER the previous 1-2 star review, so please do not judge this home by that account. The new owners have done some remodeling and plan to do more.
There is vinyl plank flooring throughout. The floor is wavy though. So if being in a level home is important to you, then this is not the home for you, but that also means you're probably too picky to be staying at a rental beach home.
There are four bedrooms; two have darker woods and seem more in need of updating. They are both small, too, but again, you are at a beach house, so how much time are you spending in your room?
The bedroom facing the ocean and the other bedroom are both in good shape. The bedroom facing the ocean has lots of windows allowing you a great view of the ocean in the morning.
The kitchen is serviceable with r/o hook, even to the ice maker in the fridge. There's a dishwasher, too. There's a large table in the dining room. The couch and chairs are comfortable and the home is nicely decorated with a nautical theme (surprise... it's a beach house).
You're about a mile and a half from McConkey's or Whaley's. So, you're in a nice location.
As of this writing, repair work is still going on at the beach, but it's still beautiful. The hurricane in Fall 2016 did severe damage to the island, but it's coming back.
