Great hotel to stay at!! It was in the heart of town and walking distance from all the hot spots around. Such friendly staff and great service!! The pool and fitness center were sooo nice too!! Everything added up to make it the perfect atmosphere and made for a super nice stay.

Stayed here for the second time with our friends and frequent traveling companions. Things have certainly changed since COVID closed things down in 2020. Lots more open restaurants and shops, folks working, smiling faces and general hopefulness.

In particular we were happy to see some familiar team members at the hotel, in spite of all the changes. Our two bellmen, Jay C. and Mackey W. were shining stars, always helpful, with waters handy on our way out walking, directions and food / beverage ideas.Such positive energy made arrival after a long drive even more welcome.

Our concierge, Sarah, helped get us situated with our friends in adjoining rooms and was prepared for any and all questions.

All in all, a wonderful five night stay and one more reason to return to Charleston!!

Room tip: Valet parking is the same cost as self parking.

Fantastic location but not too busy or loud. Within walking distance of anything you want to do and breakfast and attached restaurant are great. We will be back and will make sure we stay here and hopefully longer

The Renaissance Historic District hotel has a modern, updated and creative vibe. from the inviting mid century styled lobby and front desk, to the delightful wallpaper in the hallways and guest-rooms, to the clever cafe, the small details add up to an elegant and upscale, yet comforting environment. Our family of 4 felt that the rooms, service and cleanliness of the hotel exceeded our expectations.

The very best part of our stay was Jay C, the bellman and remarkable hotel advocate. Jay welcomed us with such energy and friendliness, that we felt immediately at home. He greeted us throughout our stay, interacted with us and made us feel known and important to the hotel. We will return to the Renaissance and tell our friends because of Jay, his knowledge of the hotel and area, and the way that he made us feel throughout our stay! Thank you Jay!

Finally, the housekeeping, bellman and front desk people that we encountered were all friendly and welcoming. What an incredible staff culture!

We came to Charleston for a long weekend with friends. As titanium level marriott clients and chairman level in vacation club, we were a bit disappointed with breakfast options as well as daily housekeeping which we requested

Had to call 3+ times/day to inquire as to housekeeping. They did come abs tidy the room but did not completely restock coffee area or toiletries

Minor in the scheme of things but not a typical outcome for a category 6 marriott property

Shout out to Jay /bellman who was informative at the onset as well as a tribute to customer service! A keeper !
