This review is for the Gardens only. We spent about 3.5 hours here and it was lovely! All the azaleas were in bloom. They have a camellia garden but they weren’t blooming so if that’s something you need to see maybe research when those bloom. We enjoyed the petting zoo and the observation tower. It’s one picturesque setting after another. There is a spot to eat ($4.50 for a hotdog). We took the nature train ride which had an excellent tour guide (Tad) who gave us a history of the Plantation and a rundown of the wildlife living there, including alligators! We enjoyed spending the day here. Next visit we will tour the house and take the boat ride. Also, it’s very dog friendly! Best walk for a dog ever!

Beside the history of the place and it's size (> 2000 acres), there is not much to see here. The gardens are mostly over grown azalea plants (or should I say trees) along walk ways interspersed with a couple of small lakes and ponds.. A river runs through the property. The house itself is pretty small and our tour guide (there were 3 of them) was just not exciting enough to get any reaction from anybody. TO us the only high point was the couple of peacocks that were near the cafe. I definitely won't recommend anybody spend money on this place.

Gardens are breathtaking. Tram ride through swamp was fun, saw lots of herons, egrets, turtles, several alligators sunning themselves on ramps in the swamp, not sure they were real, Maybe I'm too cynical. Did see one in the water that I think was real, I'm not going to try and find out. Interesting house tour.

Great place to spend an hour or so walking around well-maintained trails always in the shade. The history of the home was interesting. If you have small children the petting zoo is excellent

We went on Good Friday..it was raining so we took our umbrellas, and had the place all to ourselves for the longest time. We have been there before so map reading was not an issue. The beauty of all of the azaleas blooming is overwhelming, and many of the camellias were still blooming.
