This Inn is awesome! Right downtown! Near restaurants and all the history.
Talk to SANDY guest services mgr. He has a wealth of local knowledge. He picked all our restaurants. Cru Cafe, Husk, Pearlz, 82 Queen, Virginia's Cafe. All wonderful! Best food, presentation and service!
Hanks - do not bother with this much hyped restaurant - food average and nothing great.
Plantations - Middleton's was a real visit with the past! Great family day! Grounds beautiful, ponds, gardens, plantation home... but best of all was the demonstrations on how it was done back then. Blacksmith shop, candle making, pottery making, corn grinding, wood furniture making just to name a few. A must do!!
Sandy went above and beyond to make our stay delightful. He even fixed a parking ticket... feed those meters!

We stayed two nights for our "mini-moon" after our destination wedding in SC. Love the Southern Hospitality. We stayed in the large suite above the lobby, which was beautiful. The street noise is outrageous, though, at night!! Breakfast on the terrace was lovely, and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful at all times.

Thought it was wonderful - super location, enjoyed the breakfast food and venue on the roof, room was clean, staff was super friendly, cookies were excellent! etc. Only negative was some staff was really loud as they worked on a room close to ours all afternoon and we were trying to nap. The door kept slamming every 5 seconds w/workers going in and out, and there were really loud construction-like noises, but at least it was over with for bed time. The bathroom was a little bit outdated compared to everything else, but apparently they are getting ready to remodel those too. (Maybe that was the construction noise?). I would definitley stay there again.

Thank you for posting your comments on Tripadvisor. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and found our property as a great value. We will be renovating all our bathrooms in the Church Street building replacing bathroom tiles with beautiful travertine for shower surround and floor along with new tubs. We plan to introduce other new services and amenities in 2013. We hope that you will visit again to experience our newly renovated bathrooms and additional services.

We stayed for just a night while passing through Charleston on our way to NC, but the ease and lux feel of our stay made the first night of a much-needed vacation such a lovely one. Checking in and finding parking was a breeze. If you're looking for great eats and drinks nearby, absolutely check out Social (Happy Hour tapas & house wines/drafts were fab) and The Gin Joint (an intimate speakeasy-type place that totally lives up to the hype). Thank you API for your fantastic hospitality (the weather report with our check-out materials is such a personal touch). We'll be back for sure!

Yes, the location is great, but there are many better options to choose from nearby. The room was the tiniest room I have ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable but there was no closet or desk. The toilet was wedged between the tub and the sink. The size was not the worst thing - the noise! We were next to an elevator and a stairway and we could hear conversation from the room next to us. Whoever was in the room above us must have been rearranging furniture in the middle of the night. The water pressure was horrible. Do they think making people spend twice as long in the shower is saving them money? I will never stay here again.
