We came into town for a college search and checked in later in the evening. After checking tripadvisor for local places to eat, we found Legal Sea Foods. The waitress was friendly and helpful in choosing am entrée. We ordered an appetizer of calamari, lobster ravioli and grilled fish, all excellent. Very satisfying meal.

If you are really into good seafood do not pass up Legal Sea Foods. Whenever we head up to New England we look for a Legal Sea Foods restaurant. I of course had the lobster. Wife had crab cakes. Seating, food and atmosphere are just right. Love it!

Table for 3. Wednesday night. 9pm.

Chose this place as we were staying at a hotel across the road in transit. Very glade we did!

Started off with 2 different chowders and a lobster bisque. The New England was our favourite but it was close.

Followed up with mussels, shrimp and crab in a lovely batter. Topped off with a couple of cocktails and a beer.

Quick friendly service. Happy diners!!

Years ago Legal Seafood was the in place for seafood. As I found out, it has devolved into a middle-of-the-market chain restaurant. There was nothing glaringly wrong, but there was nothing outstanding either. From the outside it is rather tired and dated, inside ... about the same. The wait staff did try hard, but this was far from a smooth running operation. The four of us sat down to four sets of silverware and two napkins. e had to point out the omission. As we looked at the menus the manager grabbed a huge pepper mill and mumbled something to a server, loud enough for a couple of tables to hear her but not loud enough to know what she said. In view of the lackluster decor, prices seemed a bit high. They had an oyster special and a list of about a dozen oysters, but when one in the party tried to order she was told "We don't have that one" and "Ran out of that one last night." Turned out they only had three kinds. But we came for the food. I ordered grilled salmon without any sauce. The waitress said, "Salmon dry," and she was correct. A rather small (6-oz perhaps) piece of rather dry and ever so slightly overcooked salmon. This came with under-cooked brown rice and a tiny dab (perhaps 2-oz) of seaweed salad for $19!!! They serve on those extra heavy plates that you find in very diner. No one had a really bad meal, but no one had a great meal.
