Description: Greatest Pub in West Chester !!! Something for everyone here at Ryan's . Upstairs dining is a quaint quiet dining room, rear outdoor bar , street side cafe seating and a traditional pub atmosphere on main floor. Since 2002 a West Chester favorite.

Let me start out with my top gripe: an Irish pub should know how to properly pour and serve a pint of Guinness! They don’t so that counts as 2 strikes against them. The service was friendly but very very over eager. This is a pub, not A fancy restaurant so I won’t count that against them. The burgers were ok, decent but not hand made or anything special. I’m sure that if college was in session this place would have been packed. However being way past college it’s not a pace I will return to.

You know meat loaf is a staple dish from the past but served the way these folks do it is outstanding. 2 large square slices on top of a pile of Mashed Potatos with a Marsella Mushroom Sauce and better yet the plate was sorrounded with fresh Steemed Brocoli that was perfect and not dead. The plate itself looked like an 18 inch plate and the ring of fresh vegies was wonderful. Kind of led you to believe you were eating a balanced meal except for the giant slices of MEAT! If your wanting Meat Loaf Overboard Go their and get it now.

If your a traveler, window-shopper or just a plain visitor, Ryan's make you feel like you're from the neighborhood. You get that "Cheers" feeling at Ryan's and the locals are always happy to talk football with a stranger!
The menu is pretty extensive for a bar and i HIGHLY recommend their burgers! VERY good! The service is also friendly and that's always good!

We enjoyed an impromptu lunch on the terrace in the warm October sun. My British husband went for the Shepherd's Pie while I indulged in a patty melt. Delicious! And our lovely waitress makes an excellent Bloody Mary. The selection of draft ales astonished my husband. We declared the lunch a success. It was our second visit and we will return soon!
