While returning to our home in NW pa. from an extended stay in Fla. we decided to stop for the night at the "Holiday Inn Meadowlands". What a mistake that was. We were not informed that it was a Pet friendly motel, and that the smoking rooms were on the same floor as the pets rooms.
Since we had traveled that day from Columbia,S.C. we were very tired and didnt notice the condition of the rooms immediately. When I went to take a shower,there was a clump of hair in the tub. Then I started to look around the room. The drawers in the desk were broken and hanging. The floor was filthy. One side of the box springs on the bed looked like blood had flowed down the side of it. When room service put our food down on the table,the table was broken,and had it not been for my husband,it would have ended up on the floor. Then the pet parade started,I wondered what the commotion in the hall was so I looked out the peephole, there was a lady with two large dogs on leashes going down the hall. Then a man with a doberman. This went on most of the evening. Then came the banging. At 10:45 p.m. we called the desk to see if they could stop the banging noise.
They said the manager would check it out, and get back to us. They never got back to us. We would have left the motel,but my husband has trouble walking, is a diabetic, and we were exhausted. When we checked out at 7:a.m. I asked to see the manager. I was told there was no manager on duty, and wouldnt be one until 9:a.m. I filled out the survey,told the clerk what the problem had been, and she said she would tell the manager. In late April I received a letter from their headquarters,thanking us for staying there. They asked me to fill out a survey.I did that, and I also wrote a 2 page letter about our miserable stay. Here it is June, and I have heard nothing from them. I guess they really dont care if they get return customers. That was $110.00 not well spent.
