31st hotel of this road trip. The room was clean & not cramped for space. It had a hair dryer, fridge (with freezer section), microwave, & coffee maker. The bathroom was nice sized & had a nice amount of counter space. The facility has a pool, which was out of order & a fitness room, which I did not use. Wi-if was marginal. The AC worked well, & everything was pretty quiet. Breakfast consisted of waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, bread, bagels, yogurt, granola bars, fruit, & beverages. There is a restaurant, the Allegheny Grill just off the reception area; the food was pretty good.

I had stayed in this hotel a few years before the name changed to Days Inn. Looking at the reviews, the average rating when it was the previous hotel brings the average up. When averaging ratings from the last year, it would only have a 3 rating. I wish I would have known this before going to this hotel.

The hotel is horrible. The place is in desperate need of a renovation. It is not just because it is old, but EVERYTHING is dirty and smells.

The first room I was given, I couldn't get in. It was more than the card swipe not working, the door was jammed. They gave me another room.

There is mold, pealing wall paper, EVERYTHING smells like smoke (interesting they have signs all over no smoking but reading previous reviews, they had a fire), broken things, and everything just feels like it has a layer of dirt on it. The towels and sheets are thin and need thrown out.

The breakfast was not good. It was typically what you would get at a Days Inn but the eggs were watery, the homefries were overcooked, cereal was stale, and the waffle maker was dirty (my waffle had a little black specs because it probably wasn't cleaned recently).

I will try to contact trip advisor about this listing. It is very misleading when a hotel changes names that the previous reviews stay. Obviously when this was a Holiday Inn it was maintained better hence better ratings. Once it became a Days Inn, it went downhill.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel.

At the desk the girl was one the phone, said nothing and kept us waiting. There is a possibility to have dinner, was great. The bed was great, slept very well. Breakfest was bad. Little to choose, juise was out.

The indoor pool was closed during our visit, but we weren't going to use it anyway. The atrium where the indoor pool is located is not air conditioned, so it was swelteringly hot for the walk to the elevators and then leaving the elevators to your room hallway, where it was air conditioned. Free breakfast was basic, breads, waffle maker, a few hot dishes, nothing to write home about, but adequate. Rooms could use updating, but were comfortable, mostly clean and quiet.

Ok, The Good: Nice location in downtown Warren, the center of lots of things to do like hiking and kayaking in the Kinzua area. The price was reasonable too, only about $85/night for a 2 night stay. The staff were very friendly. Rooms are reasonably sized and clean. A cool design of the hotel with half the rooms on the inside having balconies overlooking the pool area, with almost a resort feel to it. We didn't eat at the hotel bar/restaurant, but it was a nice looking place and has good reviews.

The Bad: The pool, which was apparently open when I booked the reservation 2 weeks previous, was closed indefinitely for repairs. So much for the nice ambiance of the "resort." No offer of any comp for that. The entire hotel is in bad need of maintenance and updating. It is showing its age. On the Saturday we were there in the afternoon everyone had to leave the building as something caught fire in the laundry facility and filled the hotel with smoke. Don't know how long it will take to get that smell out! We left for about 4 hours and then were allowed back in. Again, no comp offered for our inconvenience.

So overall not bad. You could stay at the Hampton Inn which I'm sure is nicer, but costs twice as much.

Room Tip: If they ever get the pool opened, ask for a room with a pool view balcony.
