Nice. Clean. Comfortable. Place. Food is very good. Prices are very reasonable. We 6 people had a nice lunch for $50. All food was prerared after the order was placed with fresh ingredients. Chicken pam, eggplant pam, Pizza, Salad, eggplant roulinine was awesome. Great place. Give your $$$ to local chains.

As a “snowbird” from FL visiting PA with my partner from PA, we decided to stop at this, Momento’s, restaurant which is marked by a nice roadside sign on Rte 611. Though the restaurant’s visibility from the road is limited, the dining proved exceptional.

Inside an undistinguished front door was a vestibule where we were promptly greeted by waitress “Cather” and then by owner and hostess “Martina”, both of whom assured us we were welcome to dine in or take out, even though the kitchen was due to close in 10 minutes, at 9 PM.

Essentially, there are two separate restaurant spaces, each accessed from the vestibule through separate doors with a common bar in between. Though our original plan, given the hour, was merely to take out some pizza from that side of the restaurant, the “Specials” written on the board in the vestibule attracted us to dine in the other fine dining side where sophisticated Italian cuisine is served; we were told that the cuisine of a different region of Italy is featured each month there. This month was Sicily.

Cather guided us into the unpretentious restaurant space with empty tables at that hour. Our appetites were especially whet when we were informed that Momento’s makes its own pasta.

We ordered a large bottle of Pellegrino with some wedges of lemon ($5 for a large, chilled glass bottle, nice) with two appetizers to start: a polenta tart surrounded by a mushroom sauce served under a cute covered dish ($9), and a baby beet salad served with a slaw of fennel and carrots ($9.50); each proved unique and delicious.

A chef brought out some rolls, warm with a crisp crust, and tasty (suggesting a variation of their pizza dough, I thought).

We shared two entrees, their Sicilian ravioli (three large, over 4” square each, homemade ravioli topped with a sauce of small cuts of tomato, pesto and olive oil), and a huge salmon crepe. Both orders were large enough that we shared half of each order and took the other half home, ensuring that we’d have room left for dessert.

Desserts were sensibly sized and delicious, a small round of tiramisu, and a panna cotta, each of which we shared but finished before we left. We sent compliments to the chef, who then came out to thank us.

“Nicola” is a gracious gentleman, and I believe Martina’s husband. He spoke with an accent, humbly, about his considerable experience as a chef for over 20 years in New York City, a town he described as having the most extraordinary restaurants in the world. Quite simply, I believe Nicola is a world class chef.

We were delighted to dine there and we look forward to doing so again, soon. We might even take something home from the pizzaeria side and find that Momento’s has not only the best pizza outside of NYC but also the best cheesesteak outside of Philadelphia. Could be. We’ll see.

We went for a late lunch. Service was a little slow but not unbearable. Their food is delicious. My sister-in-law felt her good was too spicy. They immediately offered to remake the dish for her but she decided to change to something else. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Will definitely go back.

We went here for a wedding rehearsal luncheon. The service was good, efficient and food tasty. Half of our group were vegetarians and loved what they were served. The food was plentiful and all in all a great time was had. The servers took our photos and were just all around nice.
