Many dedicated members and volunteers make this organization be an outstanding location in our community. The Mansion is filled with history and examples of culture from this area. The diversity of programs they offer provide many educational opportunities for all.

I went here to volunteer with Penn State Homecoming and the staff was excellent and so friendly! They gave us a great tour and it was so amazing to hear the local history we never known before!

I was looking for something to do for an afternoon, and I saw a little brochure about the Centre County Historical Society Mansion. Don't let the name put you off. It is more than just a society building. They have a very good house tour of the Centre Furnace Mansion. It was the Ironmaster's house which is restored and furnished. You get to walk all through the house and grounds. There is a small gift shop also. Just be aware they have limited hours of Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1-4. Another bonus is it's free - donations are appreciated.

The mansion, where the Farmer's High School story began was beautifully decorated for the winters holidays.

The mansion of the former owners of Centre Furnace, located across the street, has been well-maintained, decorated with traditional furnishings, and and serves as the Society's center. It is available for exhibits, socials, receptions, etc. Tours are available.
