When booking this apartment, the host was full of information, quick to get back to us, and seemed concerned about our trip satisfaction. Upon arriving at the apartment, I felt like I was crashing at a college student's place. The patio had cases of empty beer cans stashed in the corner, the carpet was very stained from previous renters, and the window air conditioner was held in place by a piece of cardboard with masking tape. While these are things that could be viewed as no big deal to some, the deal breaker for us was the ultra thin, unbelievably hard bed. We contacted our host who offered to help us find a different location to stay at, but she'd be keeping the payment for the rental either way. We were already out the money so drove to Target to get an egg crate mattress to remedy the situation as best as possible. We've suggested to her that the $26 purchase would be helpful to her future guests should she choose to purchase one to upgrade her mattress comfortability. On a good note, the spot was super convenient to the downtown area, and it was near a wonderful coffee shop and great restaurants.
I have rented from Julie quite a few times now, and she is a great host! She always goes out of her way to make my stay the best. She even has welcome packets for those that are unfamiliar with the city. It's just a mere $10-$15 uber-cab to downtown, and there is plenty to do in the neighborhood.
