“A Pgh must-do”
Reviewed 12 February 2012

If you've never done the incline, especially if you are visiting here for a first time, this is a must-do. The view from the top is spectacular and really shows our city at its best. It doesn't matter what time of day, or even what time of year. Try to see the view from the top during daylight and after dark too.

“Yes, its safe!”

I like the other incline better because it is more attractive, but you can always visit Station Square at the bottom while you are here.

This is an inexpensive way to see Pittsburgh and enjoy an incline ride--not many of those left in the world!

“For the history, the view....”
Reviewed 29 January 2012

A unique Pittsburgh and "Old American" experience! First opened in the mid 1800's this incline has been updated/maintained and continues to operate. Very smooth, it takes a vertical rise of nearly 400 feet to various residential, bar, and restaurant atop the hill. The overlook is BREATHTAKING! You can see the entire downtown area, and the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers into the Ohio. Round trip was just $2.25, and its an easy 3 minute walk from the South Shore bar/restaurant area.

“Nice view of the City”

If you've never done it - please do. The attendants can be a little grumpy sometimes though.
