Friendly, knowledgeable staff. This is a small museum but the selection of vehicles is impressive. A must see if you have a Rolls or a Bentley, but of interest to any " Car Person".
Free attraction. Suggested donation of $5.00. Very accommodating. Called before we left for our vacation to set up a time for our visit. Had a very knowledgeable guide that spent quite a bit of time with us, showing us each car on display and answering all of our questions. Even got to go into the garage to see current cars being restored. Highlight was being able to sit behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce! Left with some free souvenirs of Rolls Royce promotional materials, including photo albums. We highly recommend this attraction. If you have time, drive through the countryside around this attraction. Great photo ops.
Volunteers are quite proud of their Foundation and gave us a very informative background history about the special motor cars in their possession. A five dollar donation is suggested to help with the cost of running this attraction. Hours of operation are limited so be sure to call ahead,
I have always been a west shore native and never new this place existed in my own backyard! A friend showed me this place one rainy summer afternoon. We had no money but all the time in the world. The fun we had of climbing in an out of these historic automobiles. Some you were able to sit behind the wheel other where roped off. But what a collection of Rolls Royce Cars that former owners donate that were Uncle's, Great Grand parents or just the Rich that have their classic cars kept in a museum type of showroom such as this. What a great way to share in history over the decades! I only went there once but what a visit we had! The place has select hours so before you drive out there make sure their open.
We stopped in unannounced to see this when we were in the Mechanicsburg area. Although the staff was busy preparing for a national meeting of the Rolls Royce Owners' Club, everyone was very welcoming, and we received a fascinating tour of the small museum of Rolls and Bentley automobiles by one of the staff, Stephanie.
The RROC owns about 18 Rolls and Bentley vehicles, most donated by members of the club and restored by volunteers. The tour usually is chronological, starting with an early Rolls chassis without coach body and progresses through the decades up to the 1990s. The great thing about this museum is that you can see these classic cars up close and in some cases actually get to sit in them. Most of the cars are taken out every month or two and driven by local RROC members and staff.
A $5 per person donation is requested.
