This is a good spot to stop at. The beer is good and has character. We stayed in the cabin over night and is clean, tidy and is a good place to stop after a ride of the Putty Road. Suites a good motorbike stop over.

The service here is good. A friendly place to stay.

Would love to camp there one day.

what an awesome little pub/tavern, friendly bar staff, cold beer and a great little view outback, nice to stop for a rest after a heavy morning of riding, wish i could've stayed for a few more beers but the law is the law, for a small kitchen/bistro the food was modestly priced which was a welcome change compared to all the other pubs i visit and there was good value for money, stop if you can as you won't be disappointed ..

cheers

We were going to wollombi for the Easter long weekend markets. As we had a large group and we knew the pub would be busy that day my sister in law rang a few days before and booked a table. She gave the girl her name and number, booked for 12 noon, even explained that my mother in law has a mobility scooter and so we'd need a table easy to access. The girl said no problem, "I know just where I'll put you" and was quite pleasant.
Upon getting to the pub however on the day we're told that we had no booking, they don't take bookings on public holidays!!!! They just told us to find somewhere to sit ourselves.
The place was packed, nowhere to sit, hardly family friendly either, we're standing out the front wondering what to do with kids near people smoking right near the front door.
So we walked up the road to a little cafe next door to the police station called the Harp of Erin. It was great, I've left another review about them, we'd definitely go back there again and needless to say will never be going back to the Wollombi Tavern again and will advise anyone heading that way to go to the Harp of Erin instead.

First time visiting the tavern. Hardly anything else is open in Wollembi mon-thurs so we went for some lunch. Pleasantly surprised. Ordered a couple of fish burgers (around $9)fried battered fish, not a healthy option but none the less delicious. Also a bowl of the best crispy on the outside light and fluffy on the inside fries I’ve ever had. The burgers som big you couldn’t fit it in your mouth first bite. Noticed all the meals were a good size. Few tables inside a little dark and dingy aircon room but everyone was choosing to sit out on the verandah on tree stump made tables. Look for the blue eyed honey eaters which the bar lady said just turned up one day, the good thing is they keep the minor birds away. They will come and sit on the railing of the tavern and look for crumbs, a very pretty bird. When you order you don’t have to stand around waiting for it you are a given a buzzer when it’s ready you collect.
Went in and tried the jungle juice, they have tastings. Apparently it’s a mixed of port and brandy, so nice. If you don’t want it straight they have suggestions what you can mix it with, we tried ginger beer....so good.
Typical country town old pub with the wooden floors.
A pretty popular place with the bikers.
