The Lantern is well positioned in the village capturing great views of the mountain .The apartment was clean , staff helpful and the village bus stops right at the door . The boot room is heated & ski locker close by.

The good points - ski boot warming lockers and ski lockers, position right next to bus stop and great views of two chairlifts and runs, kitchenette well equipped and easy access to village (if ok with stairs)

The bad points - smallest bath I have ever seen - no normal sized adult could fit in and have a relaxing bath but good for children! It’s quite a walk down to village and back up after a full day skiing so beware! Rooms clean and well furnished but no toiletries - only very harsh soap provided. Need to bring your own.

We had a one bedroom which felt quite small for 3 of us so if you have 4pp would need a 2 bedroom app tent. Note the supermarket in village only open 9-5 so impossible to get a full day skiing in, take bus back, store all the gear and head down to buy stuff for dinner, Stock up at woolies in Jindabyne as it’s quite basic.
Also most apartments seem to have no parking and it was a bit of a hassle to drop off bags. There was plenty of overnight parking at end of August,
Overall it was good for our ski trip, but not great,

Thanks for positing your review. Regarding the toiletries, we are currently testing some dispensers for shampoo and conditioner. We do not like the throw away plastic bottles and are looking for something more environmentally friendly that is easy to keep clean as well. We do recognise this is an issue and we should have a solution installed before Christmas. The bathrooms are small so larger baths are not really an option. Some bathrooms have been renovated and the bath has been removed to create more space with just a shower. Parking is limited but as you mentioned it is provided for in the village.

Thanks again for posting your review.

Stayed in Banjo 7 (part of Lantern Apartments) for 4 nights in late June and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, warm, well-equipped but reasonably priced place to stay in Thredbo. Had a brilliant view of the slopes from the kitchen, lounge and main bedroom, had all facilities we wanted (full kitchen, laundry, small drying room, room to store skis) and walking distance to the shops and, a bit further, the Burger Bar. Isn't top end luxury but really comfortable and great value. Friendly staff as well and an allocated (outside) carpark. We'll definitely stay again if we go to Thredbo.

Out family had a 5 night stay here for a skiing trip and as always we were very happy with the stay. We cannot fault this place. We had a loft apartment which was a great size for 2 adults and 2 kids. Place was clean and warm and had everything we needed. The drying room worked well, storage for skis and boots was convenient and the view from the balcony was superb.
Very friendly owners and staff made for a pleasant stay and the location was perfect (shuttle to both lift terminals right outside the door and short walk down stairs to restaurants and shops. We will definitely return.

We have stayed at Lantern Apartments every year for the last 5 years for an annual skiing holiday and find it perfect. The rooms are always very clean and well appointed. The bus stops at the front door for a ride to the village or you can walk down the steps for a bit of exercise. Rooms are warm and very comfortable in inter and the views of the mountain side from all rooms are spectacular. After staying at other places over the years we now don't bother looking at other places but go back to Lantern Apartments as they are consistently excellent.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have on site parking but there are plenty of carparks in Thredbo if yours doesn't have a car parking spot.
