Mt Warning Rainforest Park
Reviewed 8 June 2017

We camp here regularly as we live on the Gold Coast and it's a short drive to get here. The camp sites are nice and grassy, it's usually quiet and peaceful, you can have a fire and the toilet/shower amenities are well maintained and cleaned. The people who run the park are laid back and friendly and don't worry if you don't rush out by check out time the next day. We will continue to come back and would recommend anyone to camp here.

Room Tip: Powered and unpowered sites are available, powered are nicer

We hoped to visit Mt Warning but the road was still closed due to heavy rains some weeks back so we doubled back and called into this rainforest retreat. A charming cafe/restaurant with an enormous chalk board selection of food and beverages. It was a magic spot as we ate outside under the colourful falling Autumn leaves to the sound of the babbling brook and bird sounds all around, including the hens scratching around in the gardens. The food and service were excellent and I am so glad we came across this magic spot.

Room Tip: A little off the beaten track but we thought it was well worth the visit.

Fantastic place to camp and kids had a ball. Unfortunately Mount Warning national park closed but as only there two nights was plenty to do with the river running right next to the campsite. Now the toilet blocks could be cleaned a bit more and management a bit casual however this just adds to the charm and you get a warm shower so all good. Plenty of wood for the fire too.

We stayed in a non powered site and this I think is the best area as away from the main park and on the river. I want give away the spot we had but best spot in the park I think especially as park was full to the brim. Would be great to go when it wasn't a long weekend.

Overall a very beautiful park to do some traditional camping by a campfire.

Very beautiful rainforest setting. Family friendly and peaceful. River running right next to the camp ground. We stayed in cabin 5B. The cabin interior is reasonably well-appointed with a few signs of aging. We however found these to be insignificant compared to the value and the overall environment of the park. I did find the lack of supplied toiletries an annoyance given that this is a cabin with supplied linen and towels. Overall, Peter Chaser recommends this with a solid C+

What a beautiful park! We camped at the edge of the pristine running creek! Heavily treed with lush lawns, the park features adequate amenities which are old but well kept...no worries getting a hot shower here. On site managers are very friendly and there is a small shop stocked with the basics. It is only two weeks since the massive floods passed through the area and all is nearly back to normal. Great park for 'flop and droppers', hikers and photographers. And, if you love bass fishing, the mighty Tweed and Claire Hall Dam are on your doorstep.
