I recently stayed at the Beachcomber Lodge on Lord Howe Island and it was fantastic. The rooms were nice and simple, just right for a relaxing island vacation. Everything was clean and I had everything I needed. The location was also great, nestled close to the beautiful and secluded Ned's Beach, offering quick access to a tranquil spot for relaxation or a quick swim.

But what really made my stay special was Gary, the owner of the lodge. He picked me up from the airport, gave me a tour, and was always there to help out. The hospitality offered by Gary and his family was very welcoming. The main stores are just a short walk away from the lodge, but you might find a rental bike handy to explore the island more widely. Beachcomber Lodge is a great place to stay!

Too old - on top of a steep hill. Don't waste your money. Also outdated for the prices charged. The Island is nice - just alot of price inflation on accommodation. If you get stuck there !!! Hello Capella!

Prepaid $5K via Oxley Travel to secure 2 x 1 bd cottages at Beachcomber Lodge for a total of 5 nights. Unfortunately QANTAS cancelled our flights on three occasions to LHI (Oct 2022) and therefore we were unable to utilize or prepaid accommodation. Understandably guest who were unable to depart LHI were staying in our prepaid rooms, and likely paying some category of tariff to Beachcomber. Requested Gary from Beachcomber consider issuing us a partial refund or even a partial travel credit (to be used in non peak period) but to no avail. We were not seeking a full refund., nor even 50%. Have stayed at LHI previously, but this is an expensive lesson. Ensure you have adequate travel insurance (even though it is domestic travel), as QANTAS does cancel flights to LHI and Beachcomber will not offer any sort of remedy. Time for my family to find a new destination. Glen
