My husband and I came to Arajilla in Feb 2017 for our very belated honeymoon. We had heard good things about Lord Howe Island and we were over the moon when we found a Luxury Escapes package for Arajilla!! We stayed in the Kentia Suite and it was nicely furnished and super comfortable for the two of us.
Arajilla staff were absolutely incredible - Rebecca, Pheobe, Dani and Olivia - all 4 of them were so attentive, lovely and took the time to get to know us both. They knew everyone by name!
The FOOD at Arajilla is an absolute stand out! Breakie was always yummy and had so many options - with a fresh juice AND coffee to go with it. Dinner was perfection with a 3 course meal (unending bread rolls for us...a few reviews said they didn't get more than 1 - we got as many as we wanted!) however lunch was our favourite. We opted to have BBQ packs sent to the beaches we were at for us to cook! Every lunch we had some kingfish and steak and salad and we ate it while having a fabulous time at the beach! The staff drop it to you and pick it up so you don't have to carry it while you bike ride home. The complimentary cocktail hour before dinner is great as well. We met some of the other guests that we got on really well with and the cocktails are great too!!
I had 2 spa treatments while I was at Arajilla and my second one was by Isabelle - she was AMAZING. 3 hours of absolute bliss!!!!! I definitely recommend it if you come here!
The ONLY negative experience I had... and I do hate to be nit picky but I do wish someone had told me.... don't come here if you have a HUGE fear of spiders. As the cabins are in the rainforest, there are NO mosquitoes but many spiders! We stayed for 5 nights and each night there was a huntsman somewhere in our cabin. A few other guests had also said they had spiders in their cabins and a few also crawled across them in their sleep!! For most people, spiders are fine however for me, I had real anxiety about them at night so I didn't sleep well for 5 nights so I did leave quite tired. I know it's a VERY small thing in the scheme of an amazing holiday but I do feel when you're paying as much as you do to stay here, there would be every intent to keep large spiders out of bedrooms.....
The staff are very helpful in trying to minimise the spiders in your room and there is mortein supplied but something to keep in mind if you don't like them in your room.
All in all, we had a beautiful time and we will come back (and I'll be better prepared with a mosquito net for the spiders...).
Thank you to the team for making our stay so lovely. We met some beautiful couples and we had such a lovely time - definitely a honeymoon to remember!
