The Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Village Museum shows the lifestyle of early settlers to Australia. We discovered houses and tools from the middle of the 19th to early 20th century. You can explore old trades like a blacksmith, saddle maker etc.
It was dry and a bit run down. The people running the place ignored us when we first arrived and there was nobody at the reception to collect the $10 per adult. After we had looked in every building, taken photos and tried out the suspension bridge and barrel roll, we were eventually approached by someone to ask for payment. Overall, it was disappointing and I wouldn't recommend this Museum unless they improve it, including the Geology display.
7 hectares of bushland with walking tracks 2029 Moss Vale Rd, Kangaroo Valley NSW 2577
The Museum is a bit scrappy - but gives a really interesting story of the family from the UK and how their family grew in the area.
We visited on the long weekend on the Sunday morning. We had a blast looking through all the displays and exploring! $10 per adult I feel we definitely got our money’s worth and spent 2-3 hours here.
Went sunday long weekend and paid $10 for entry and expecting some education and good display but absolutely rip off place. It looks like someone's garage and put museum name on it. Only 4section of house which nothing much inside and don't waste money. I have seen so much better museum and settlers museum without ridiculous entry fee.
Stop at the falls 10 km before you descend into Kangaroo Valley. Bring your driving skills its a long and winding road both down to and out of Kangaroo valley.
The Museum is interesting, no staff at exhibits during the winter months ( self guided)
Places to eat along the main street.
Oops! we didn't see any Kangaroos
I was very surprised by how much information was in the museum. The entry fee was so cheap and there was a lot to see!
I especially enjoyed the suspension bridge
