The guest house itself was really well presented with well-maintained gardens and grounds. We stayed in the studio apartment and utilised the day bed. The apartment was fresh, bright and meticulously clean. We had a full bath. The bedding was extremely comfortable. The room had a lot of charm and personal touch and well beyond what I expected in a B&B. It is located minutes from the action of Byron Bay but still quiet and secluded. It was ideal and we would definately book again.

We stayed at Barbara's Guesthouse for two nights and it was a perfect little spot. Close to everything and you can look after yourself. There weren't many people staying whilst we were there so it was great. One bathroom may be trickier when all the rooms are full. We would def recommend!

Room tip: We couldn't get the wifi to work properly.

Had been roadtripping and finished attending a festival so was in need of a good sleep and Barbara's guesthouse didn't dissapoint. The owners were lovely people and the place was, clean, cosy and friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends and would gladly go again if I was back in Byron. 5 stars

Barbara's Guesthouse (actually owned by Virginia) is the perfect B&B for some serious relaxation!
The house is so clean, and the gardens & outdoor living area with chair swing & day bed provide you with the space to relax and get fresh air. Our stay was relatively quiet as we hardly saw the guests in the other rooms. Simple breakfast of toast, cereal, tea/coffee is provided however we chose to indulge in breakfast elsewhere. The rooms are comfortable, and shared bathroom also didn't prove an issue as people seemed to come and go at their own pace. Very short walk across the old train line into town - actually a really pleasant stroll in the morning. Close to the beach & town - what more could you want!

As a couple with a 2-year old, we had the queen studio. Although the studio was very clean and neat (although very small), this booking was a big disappointment for us. Indeed the description stated that a 'kitchenette' was available in the studio, this was not true. Only microwave and toaster but no stove.
Luckily there was a communal kitchen that we asked to use but unbelievably the landlady refused! No negotiations possible while she was in the wrong by putting a false description regarding our studio...!
We had based our whole weekend around nice meals that we would prepare but we were not allowed.. As a result, we had to go to a public BBQ with our 2 year old at 7 pm (pouring and 15 deg) to cook our dinner! It really ruined it for us...! Please remove 'kitchenette' from the description as this means 'cooking' and is not the case in your property.

We are sorry your stay was disappointing, your undisclosed cooking needs would probably have been better met at a self serviced apartment so you could cater in a full kitchen.Barbara's is a small Cutters Cottage Guesthouse which needs to respect the ambience of other Guests who share the house. The Studio as described and photographed on all the internet sites contains a kitchenette suitable for basic meal preparation only. The main kitchen is non cooking as signed and only for the enjoyment of the basic self serve breaky as well as teas and coffees during the day.
