Pleasant and lovely location

Very pleasant stay, not long enough to enjoy all on offer. Very hot day and room was lovely and cool with good air conditioning. Check in lady was very pleasant, friendly and efficient. Grounds were lovely and well kept with lake and fountain and of course the ducks!

We booked two nights in January and were extremely disappointed.
Firstly, the television wasn’t working and the technician they sent couldn’t fix it.
The bed was only 0.4m from the brick wall on one side and I banged my head on the wall when getting up during the night.
The bedding consisted of a doona and a sheet. One was far too warm for mid-summer and the sheet was inadequate on its own. Needless to say, we checked out after the first night but were still charged for two nights!

The layout of the room is unique. We can walk out from the living area then step into the green grass back yard without even a step. Love the the pond with the fountain in the back yard, love the serene peaceful surroundings.

The location is perfect, but we didn’t realised that the attached restaurant doesn’t provide breakfast.

One more thing I will say is the cleanness can be improved.

Room tip: Ask about breakfast

Briar's Country Lodge was such a lovely find. I found it online that morning and booked in that night - a twin room - for a very reasonable rate of $165. The lodge is surrounded by parkland and a lake edged with weeping willows. Very tranquil. The room had everything we needed, was spacious and opened out onto a small terrace and the parkland. We order a continental breakfast which was great. We dined at the restaurant and both had great meals and affordable glasses of pretty good cabernet. A wonderful stay.

Terribly disappointed in Briar Inn Bar and Bistro - Bowral!

$32 mushroom gnocchi x 2 meals were so gluggy and stuck to our mouths and basically inedible. The white sauce also undercooked. I picked out and ate the mushrooms and my husband persevered after being in thd car travelling since 10.30am he did his best but left over half his meaL. Truly one of our worst ever dining experience. We have just travelked from Sunshine Coast Qld through out Vic and heading back up through NSW and this was the worst night. To make things worse, I asked at ordering if the potato bake was vegetarian,as it did not specify on menu as it did for all other meals on menu ....to over hear the chef very loudly embarrassingly joke to the young waitress, 'yes it was full of meat ... no... what did she think?! ... it is just potato and cream.'
My husband heard this from the restaurant!!!
...The only reason I asked as many bbq's often add bacon or ham and it had NO vegetarian symbol on the dish?!
We did complain to restaurant manager about overhearing the rude chefs comments and she kindly offered complimentary desserts... after tasting the disgusting quality of the main meal gnocchi we simply just had to leave and not even bother any further.
Rude slow service. Completely a big NO.
