This cafe takes you to an old era. From the decoration and the design to the music everything hits you back. You feel like you are an English royalty riding an elephant in the middle of India some time around 100 years ago. Elephant is the main icon in this cafe and you can see it everywhere. Elephant statues, elephant pictures, cushions with elephants on them and so on. Also you can choose a book from the shelves and enjoy your book and your coffee at the same time

What a shame. My friends and I were extremely disappointed by the poor service, bad food and errors on the bill. From first arrival we were treated very coldly from all staff. The food we received was not what was ordered from the menu and there was no apology, only blame on us (the customers). A horrible way to start the day. This cafe is overpriced and a complete rip off.

This venue has great potential. I have been visiting it under a variety of circumstances over the past 10 years, and have generally had enjoyable experiences. There have been occasions, however, when they have stuffed up in a mightily impressive manner!
I visited for brunch with my father (who was reluctant to attend after a negative experience a couple of weeks previously, during which they waited over an hour for coffee and food and had to walk out after this as they had not even started their meals!). We waited under ten minutes for coffee to arrive, and our meals followed not long after. I had a very enjoyable and unique meal of curried mushrooms, mustard and cheese on toast with poached eggs - totally delightful! The coffee is flavoursome and they offer a wide range of delicious cakes - not your usual cookie cutter outsourced numbers!
I have, in the past, had quite disappointing experiences at this cafe (disorganised service, extreme wait times and food being delivered to other customers), however, when they pull it off, it is a truly great place to have brunch! I think that is why I continue popping in! Perhaps Elephant Boy Cafe need to rejuvenate their team in order to make their service more consistent in the future.

Love Elephant Boy and love the food. Great curries of course but also many other nice dishes. Often full which is not surprising given the quality of the food but it is a large café although it does not seem so when you first walk in. Love it!

Looked lovely and full of people so stopped for brekky. Lovely staff and atmosphere but things went down from the moment the order was taken. Order was wrong, meals took 30 minutes to arrive and then the eggs Bennie were stone-cold. The spinach salmon omelette had almost no salmon , and was heavy and flavourless. When the eggs Bennie was $19 and there was a 10% surcharge for Sunday's (!), my wife and I were extremely disappointed as this reflected poorly on our Southern Highlands sojourn to Bowral. With so many other options to choose I suggest you spend the time reviewing TripAdvisor and look elsewhere in this beautiful town.
