"Personal Attention in Your Own Colonial Homestead"

눇The Bangalow Guesthouse is a beautifully restored colonial building refitted with all modern amenities, located right across the bridge into town, at the bottom of the main thoroughfare and therefore in walking distance of all facilities. Personal greeting by friendly staff member. Brownies freshly baked then and there and left in the kitchen. Full kitchen facility for breakfast with staff member on hand to cook a hot addition. Dining on wide outdoor verandah. New cabins being added. Quiet smalltown setting just off the highway and close to Tourist Central at Byron Bay. The King Suite has fully-stocked bookshelves, reading chairs, and a fireplace. Be treated like colonial aristocracy for a night!

Room Tip: The King Room has more space and a sitting area. New Cottages are being added.

We came to Bangalow for a little relaxation after the chaos of Christmas and new year celebrations, and we were so glad we did! I used to pass through on my way to Lismore for work and didn't have the time to explore this gorgeous town.
Bangalow has retained its country town air even though it has fabulous shopping opportunities at every turn!
Bangalow Guesthouse was superb - friendly and accessible staff, lovely comfy room, fantastic breakfasts, and beautiful surroundings, with a creek and resident water dragons to amuse us. Thank you for such a great mini holiday

Room Tip: Queen bedrooms or King suite are the best, but even the smaller rooms look quite comfortable.

Dated, small rooms and bathrooms, lack of facilities and services ( had to go shopping for tissues as I was told they were not an item the guesthouse would supply) Luxury is not! Good breakfast is not enough to make a pleasant stay. Go somewhere else.

I write this on the broad covered verandah of this lovely guesthouse, for the second morning having demolished a great breakfast prepared by Naomi. Freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit, Greek yoghurt, local honey; followed by an omelette with spinach (day 1) and a frittata with zucchini and soft goats cheese (today). Plus sourdough toast. And croissants if desired. French press coffee.
My room is the King Room - very comfortable with a separate seating area that was once an enclosed sunroom with multiple large wooden framed windows.
Previous comments about road noise should be ignored by all but the most sensitive (hard to please?) types. I had no such trouble.
The house is lovely and original - beautifully refurbished with a huge sitting room boasting comfy elegant couches and chairs. A large kitchen where guests can store their snacks and drinks in the impressive fridge (I'm always a sucker for a fridge with ice and cold water in the outer door) and crockery/ cutlery and glassware available for personal use. A lovely and homey touch.
The shady generous verandah has seating all around it for lazing away the day enjoying the cool breeze after a few hours exploring the excellent retail therapy and excellent food options available 50 metres away. A nicer stay I couldn't have imagined. I was a bit concerned when reading some of the previous reviews that perhaps all was not as advertised. Rest assured this somewhat picky traveller experienced no such thing.

My husband and I have just enjoyed a weekend stay and found that the experience was very enjoyable (have just booked again for next year). The décor and furnishings are lovely and the bed very comfortable. We had the king room that was set out with plenty of space for arm chairs and reading area. The art through out the guesthouse is fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and the fresh baked cake that was left for us on arrival piping hot from the oven was a treat!
Check in was simple and a cheerful greeting appreciated.
This is an original old homestead so the walls are a little thin so you will be aware of other guests, however this was not too much of a problem.
It is walking distance to the town and the gardens are delightful.
Two new cottages are just about finished so we have booked one for next year.
Thanks you for a lovely stay, Linda & Gary

Room Tip: King room or check out one of the new cottages when finished not in the main house but would be very...
