We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spring Barn. My only suggestion would be to improve the six guests stay would be an extra fridge, possibly a tall fridge freezer in the utility room downstairs. The one current fridge is not sufficient for six hungry, thirsty guests.
We have been to Cornwall many times as a family but this was the first time we have been with our new dog to this area. The location of Spring Barn was perfect for us to explore Daymer Bay, Padstow, Rock and Polzeath most of which we did on foot using the amazing coastal paths and beach walks at low tide. Coasteering at Fistral Beach in Newquay was a great family activity even for a 9 year old. Spring Barn was perfect for our family and very safe for a 7 month old lab once the front gate had been shut. Loved this place and will be back.
The house was located in a quiet spot next to farm land with views over St Enedoc Golf Course. We had a nice hamper on arrival and started to unpack. There were cobwebs in most rooms and the shower cubicle was just plain filthy with black mould. There was no wardrobe in the twin room, the table in the kitchen could not seat 5/6 adults and the storage heaters stopped working after one-day. The stairs were very steep & slippery and the TV decided to switch off every time we changed channel! We have used Natural Retreats many times and have always been delighted with their properties but this one was not up to their usual excellent standard.
