“Amazing house - thoroughly recommended!”

We have just returned from a week’s stay at The Lookout and the house was even better than it looked in the pictures. The owners have thought of everything and left lots of little unexpected extras that we haven’t had before in previous holiday properties (eg a lovely cake, flowers, soaps, towels). The views are great across the fields in every direction and we were blessed with great weather and were able to take full advantage of the lovely balconies. The Weir Restaurant nearby was lovely and also the walk to Bude along the canal. Bude was a short trip in the car (about 5 mins) and Widemouth Bay just a little further. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Note for people travelling to The Lookout with dogs. The Lookout is very dog friendly and we were very grateful to be able to bring our dogs, however we wouldn’t say the garden is 100% secure (and to be fair isn’t marketed as such). It is enclosed all the way round but if you have small or medium sized dogs that are of a mind to do it they may be able to get out through the slats in the fence and our two managed to find a gap in the very tall and thick hedge into next door’s garden! As there were sheep in the field behind the dogs were also very interested in them. There is also a public footpath just a short walk from the house but sadly the gates and styles had been blocked with wire so we were unable to get our older dog over and the small gap under the gate didn’t allow for her to go under either. A real shame as when a couple of us went down there without the dogs it seemed to be a really lovely walk. This is not meant to put anyone off going to The Lookout as we would still thoroughly recommend it but just for information for anyone travelling with a dog.

“Blissful!”
Reviewed 25 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

The owners have thought of everything to make your stay wonderful! Superb house. Feels like home rather than a holiday let. The location is excellent with views over the fields from every window. We've stayed in the owners other properties nearby and all are to a very high standard. A passer by complimented us on 'our' house and the fish mural and for one tiny second I was going to go with it, but stopped myself (much to the amusement of my husband) Booked next year before leaving!

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 22 April 2018 for a stay in March 2018

Second consecutive Easter we have stayed here as a family. Just to check I did try looking elsewhere this year but could not find any property to match it for quality and price. House has everything you could need, is beautifully completed and furnished and an excellent base to explore North Cornwall. Will definitely be booking again.

“Absolutely fantastic”

Everything we could possibly have wished for and even more. Total luxury. Just wish were staying for more than a week.
We had snow for a couple of days so the log burner was a bonus.
Such a fabulous view from the lounge, kitchen and dining areas.
Anyone staying here will not be disappointed.
