Hotel was clean and the room was a nice size but the thin walls meant I heard everything being said by the people that were in the room next door. Got very little sleep because of this as they were up late chatting and laughing. Breakfast was OK self service which was lukewarm. Staff were friendly. Ok hotel for a one night stop over which is what I used it for.

While this hotel isn't on the pretty North Cornwall coast, it is only a few miles away from it and within easy reach of the area's many attractions. The staff are very friendly, our room spacious and comfortable though lacking some of the more spectacular views as it overlooked the driving range. The breakfast was basic but tasty and plentiful.

We stayed here as we were visiting for a "christening" nearby and perhaps here in lied the problem. This is first and foremost a golf club, and the hotel appears to serve that market best. Prices reflect this as they were no more expensive than comparable hotels on the coast.

We were surprised that on a weekend breakfast is only served from 7:30am to 9:30am with food taken off at 9. Great for an early tee time but not for guests wishing a weekend lie-in. The wifi is also terrible. If you could get a signal and log-in the speed was poor. And unusually check-out was at 10:30am. Admittedly the hotel has that posted at check-in and on the key card envelope. But we just assumed 11am like most hotels and when at 10:35am we had a knock on the door it could have been friendlier. We were out by 10:45am.

But the golf facilities look amazing. The bar is spacious and comfortable. The views from the good side of the hotel wonderful. I'd be very happy to return for a golf weekend. But not so much for a leisure one.

Room Tip: If you're staying longer than one night book a room with a view.

We had the 2 bedroom flat at the back of the property with our own private entrance. We were able to park where the golf carts were charged just outside our flat which had 2 bedrooms (a double & a twin room, bathroom, kitchen & dining/sitting room). The flat was obviously designed for longer stay golfing guests as the rooms had plenty of wardrobe space with a wardrobe organiser in the twin room & there was also an extra fold-down bed in the lounge/dining room. It didn't have the most modern decor but was very quiet after the bar closed, extremely comfortable, suited us perfectly and was very good value for money. It's primarily a golfing hotel so there isn't a lot you can walk to if you don't play golf, but it was perfect for our visit to Tintagel the next day. The staff were both friendly and welcoming and the breakfast, which wasn't included in the rate was buffet style in the spacious dining room that overlooked the Golf Course, and was excellent (9.99 per person). The next day we visited Tintagel and had the most fabulous day exploring the island and the new TCARP 2017 dig. What an amazing archaeological discovery.

Room Tip: A golfing hotel but we chose it because we knew it would be quiet.Very handy for visiting Tintagel, Boscastle & Port Issac.

Lovely place with great views and great staff. Beautiful setting and very clean. Had free WiFi, although they didn't have a lift we were offered help to bring our bags up. Very good value for money. Breakfast was great although the breakfast room was quite hot
