We got out fish and chips (and to be fair, also a hamburger and chips) here one night in August. We stayed in the Countryman Hotel, and as they don't serve dinner we were looking for somewhere else to eat.

Peckish is almost just across from the hotel, and it looks so unlike regular chippies. It looks rather posh, so we figured that it must be good! The big banner of course also told us thet they are best in the South West and runner up in the whole of the UK. So we took our chance, together with a whole lot of other people. It was very busy, but that didn't seem to face the staff. They were friendly and very quick.

We decided to eat our food on the village green, to complete the experience. It was so good, the best fish and chips we had during our holidays.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant, they really are all that they claim to be.

Lovely fresh fish and chips and we didn't have to wait long until they were ready. Great to eat by the sea helped by the seagulls of course.

Lovely fish and chips here. Boxed and cooked to order - it means a wait but you know you are getting it FRESH. I was suprised that price was slightly higher than I pay in local in south london. You get a load of chips in a portion. In second visit over a week stay we ordered the Pensioners Special at lunchtime and that provided a really good sized piece of cod and chips along with mushy peas.... and a slice of lemon! for £3.50 Meal was really delcious and their award is well deserved. Friendly service too!

They deserve their title of best Fish and Chips in the South. Take-away boxes are very good quality.
Would definitely recommend
