“An amazing little cottage”
Reviewed 23 February 2015 for a stay in September 2014

Linhay is a quaint and quirky historic cottage in a great location. My partner and I took our dog with us in September and had a fantastic time. The accommodation is both practical, with original slate flooring, and full of character with a courtyard style garden perfect for a glass of wine in the evening and secure for the dog so we could leave the door open for him to wander about while we were cooking etc. Boscastle itself is a comfortable walk down the hill and the pub up the road is handy and convenient. Parking was never a problem on the road outside the property. We would certainly visit again!

“Travel back in time with style ! 8-)”

Like other said here before this historical cottage has tons of features reminding of the old days which have been nicely restored and documented, all of this adding a nice touch to the whole building. However, all the modern necessities are at hand as well. Being a bit of a “holiday” cook myself I really enjoyed the nicely fitted kitchen. When some utilizes were not at hand for my “more exotic” experiments I just asked the nice owner Tim who promptly provided them. Boscastle and surrounding were magnificent in the early Easter sun and Tim was always there to answer questions or share his knowledge about the place. Coming back after a day of exploring and nodding of in front of the fire with a glass of wine really felt like coming home and was the cheery on the cake 8-). A great holiday in a great cottage in beautiful Cornwall !

“A cosy and quirky cottage in a wonderful coastal village”
Reviewed 17 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We absolutely loved our stay at Linhay with our dogs. This is a beautiful, cosy cottage with oodles of history and interesting original features including a granite salting trough, a smugglers' peephole and a beautiful old doorway. In addition to its period charms, the cottage is very well equipped and easy to keep clean, a fact that was especially welcome during a stormy week in February! It was lovely to explore Boscastle and the nearby coast in all weathers, and then come back and curl up in front of the wood burner on a windy evening.

The location of the cottage, jostling for position with other historical buildings on a steep, narrow street, means that you can begin your exploration of historical Boscastle just by looking out of the window. After that, it's a pleasure to step outside the door and take a stroll around the village and harbour.

Parking was no problem - there are a few parking spaces just a few yards up the hill from the cottage, and we always managed to find a space there. The cottage's owner was always on hand if we needed anything.

All in all, I can't recommend this cottage highly enough and I'll definitely be staying there again.
