Our out of town guest, and my Father and I went to the play at the Ritz. It was "The Second Lady, a Political Frolic" by Sharkey, a political farce. It was an excellent performance with some local favorite community actors. The play was well-written and the set design was convincing. All and all a nice night out. It was raining heavily and we had front row seats for the show as we arrived early. It was nice to see neighbors there and the volunteers were so helpful. Thank you all for making my guest feel part of the community by giving him information about this historic theatre and telling him about the people who make this playhouse a wonderful part of downtown Hawley and the Poconos.

The theater is old, but the play was wonderful, one of the best I have seen!! The talented Wallenpaupack teacher was marvelous as Reno, her singing and dancing was very professional. The entire cast was amazing!!

I thoroughly enjoy the amateur productions. The group and individual talent is remarkable . The theatre evokes memories of simpler times. It's a shame that the theatre doesn't receive some public funding to repair and maintain this beautifully nostalgic building.

Truth be told, the building itself is old.The ceiling tiles are water stained. The carpet has long since been torn out. The entire place could use some paint. But who really cares once the lights go out? The lights went out and the play began (The Amorous Ambassador). The actors and actresses did a GREAT JOB! They were comedic and full of energy. After all it is the play you are going to see, not the facility. The theater was filled with around 100 people and everyone enjoyed themselves. From the lady's at the ticket window, the older gentleman tearing your ticket stubs and the young men who showed us to our seats. It was a 1st class operation if you can look past the imperfections of the facility. It's obvious no one is getting wealthy for this place. How can they at $15 a ticket and $0.50 cent candy and $1.00 bottled water. The actors and actresses are doing it for their love of theater. We will give this little place a standing ovation and we look forward to returning to see another play.

We found the actors of summer stock very engaging, and enjoyed the performances. And the theater....yes, it's an antique that's being restored bit by bit, so don;t expect modern conveniences here, but the old charm and interesting architecture alone are worth seeing to those that can appreciate the old art.

The theater was old & no a/c and it was a very warm evening ! The play was not so good not worth the $15 . Theater badly needs renovation including a/c !
Either bring down price or better actors !

The shows are great but the building is old and needs remodeling. It has that old musty smell and you can see where there were water leaks. The seats also need to be refurbished if not replaced. Plus some air conditioning would help.
