Charming old pre-Civil war bed and breakfast located a couple of miles south of Confluence and not too far away from Fallingwater, which was the reason for my stay. The rooms are comfy and clean and the guest bathroom is very cool, with a fireplace and an old time brass bathtub. In the new, private bathroom they're building, they're putting in an amazing shower which is flanked by actual trees- you'll feel like you're showering in a forest. It's an actual farm, so animals abound, which my kids loved. The family is lovely, and I'd definitely stay there again. One suggestion though- I wish their sign was bigger or more illuminated- even though they're on a main road, it was a little difficult to find the place at night when you're visiting for the first time. Other than that, I think it's a wonderful place and highly recommend it.

Fallingwater is really, really worth the effort. The visitor's center is top notch - very well designed with gourmet cafe, amazing gift shop, tidy bathrooms and even a childcare center. I don't think anyone would disagree that Fallinwater is worth the trip. The big question is where to stay overnight. We tried a Bed and Breakfast in nearby Confluence. The Hanna House B&B is a real farmhouse with horses, sheep, dogs and cats all wandering on the property. The family own an adjacent working cattle ranch. The breakfast is down home eggs and bacon. The towels and linens are clothes line dried. The hot water and heating system are wood-burning stove powered. You get the idea. The B&B features a really neat set of giant swings for big kids. One is an old four poster bed complete with mosquito netting. The shared bath has great water pressure and plenty of hot water, as well as a nice collection of organic soaps and lotions. The only small drawback is the lumpy, old mattress. Ah well, it's well worth the trip. Enjoy!

Room tip: Abbiamo soggiornato nella stanza al piano terra. Questa stanza è grandissima e molto caratteristica, come del resto tutta la struttura. Molto particolare il bagno privato di questa stanza.
