If you're travelling down the 26 to the beach, you really have to stop at Camp 18. The restaurant itself is a wonder; so beautifully made and with the largest log beam support you've ever seen. They also decorate it beautifully, especially at Christmas, but any time is fun with the log carvings and woodsy themed art. Also, a beautiful stone fireplace with twinkly lights and a roaring fire. And outside, all sorts of huge old logging equipment
On this last visit we discovered there is a bar upstairs with no wait for seating. We grabbed a table by the window. My stew was so flavorful with large cuts of carrots cooked perfectly and not mushy at all (hate mushy vegetables in stew). Hubby loved his omelette with sausage and home fries. Also got a HUGE cinnamon roll to bring home for later.

If you are here October-December, walk behind the restaurant to see salmon spawning in Humbug Creek.

The atmosphere is worth a trip and the food is good. Service was good. If you have time to go thru the museum and walk around all the historical items outside it is really interesting.

We never miss stopping at camp 18 for at least a bowl of clam chowder in route to the Oregon coast. It's tradition not to mention the best chowder on the coast without a doubt. We have been regular customers for over 20 years. The food is freshly made and many items are made from scratch each day. We have never been dissatisfied with the food or the service. The restaurant is itself a piece of Oreggon logging history. A wonderful place to dine ....big flavor, big portions, wonderful...
