This place is packed and it is hard to get a table. Based on some advice from WWeek we went early (before 5pm) and they took our name and said they would seat us when they opened. The bar had expensive mixed drinks ($10 cocktails, but wine and beer were more reasonable).
The dinner was good we shared 2 appetizers, 2 vegatables, and 2 meats for 3 people which was just about the right amount of food for an average appetite (if there is such a thing). The food was great, the clam chowder was a favorite. The were a couple of issues: the steak was cooked very rare when we asked for medium rare, and the chorizo sausage had some cold spots. We did not send it back because after waiting we were very hungry.
Would we go again? yes. Was it good? yes. Was it the best meal ever in Portland? no
It was also expensive which makes it best suited for special occasions (or impressing a date).
